Is this true?

I'd like a nice "citrus degreaser" to spray my car down with before I do ONR washes.

Re: Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss

What setting are you guys using on your foam gun when you use CG citrus wash? Whenever I use setting E is goes through soap very quick but when I back it off it doesn't use soap as quickly but I don't get good coverage either. I like to saturate the vehicle with soap first to let it start breaking down the dirt and then I go back and wash. Settings and ratio would be appreciated.

Thanks

If I diluted this to the LSP removing mix, could I use it in a spray bottle as a replacement for p21s TAW? Would it function similarly

It would, kinda. CW&G isn't as strong as TAW. CW&G also has rinse aids in it, similar to what's in Ivory Liquid dishwashing liquid. It helps the water sheet off the surface to prevent spotting. It takes a fair bit of rinsing to get rid of the rinsing agent. So where ever you're gonna use CW&G as a TAW substitute, you'll need to be ready to rinse it like crazy.

Re: Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss

sadly, this is the only product from CG that I thought was decent and worth the money.

I'm still very bothered by the fact that I have 2 gallons of this stuff and the mixture of the chemicals making up the product is completely different. It was as if the product wasn't mixed very well when it was made and during the pouring process. I haven't opened the 2nd gallon yet but I can only assume that they are not going to work 100% alike when the chemical compositions are different.

I think if you follow this forum long enough, you will realize how most of CG's product are hyped only to rarely get mentioned again and that's because the quality of the product (or lack thereof) speaks for itself. It's not like I've tried less-than-satisfactory products from other manufacturers, but it seems like product after product that I try of CG's are huge disappointments.

Add to that some of the shady crap they've pulled off in the past such as stealing people's logos for their products, knowingly shorting customers of products labeled as 1 gal that weren't truly a gal, the hit or miss with customer service, acquiring a domain name similar to a competitor's and pointing it back to their website (they took the s out of detailersparadise.com), and the list goes on. I just think there are better companies in this industry with better products and better business ethics for me to give my money to.

That's just my $.02

Totally agree. CW&G is the only CG product I use now. I've also noticed a big difference in the appearance of two different gallons of CW&G. They both seem to work the same, though.

Re: Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss

I recently tried CG CWG for the first time in my Gilmour Foamaster II gun with high hopes of getting better foam than Meg's GC. I have to say there isn't much of a difference. Maybe a foam cannon is required to really see a difference? I should also mention that my version does not have the variable mix control, but I tend to put in the same amount of product for each use.

Honestly a foam gun doesn't show the differences between soaps well at all, especially one without mix control. Foam cannons produce so much foam it's easy to tell the differences. I tried out some CW&G (1oz) with Megs NXT (2oz) and 29oz of water and it produced very good suds and cleaned very well. I plan on trying a DG 901 mix with CW&G down the road but I think CW&G is great for a good wash.
