Arrow Which products best for my new custom paint job (pic inside)??

Hey folks!

I am new in this forum and i am very happy that I found this site where you can get evreything about car detailing!

In deatiling I would say that I am a half-newbie beacuse I have already used LiquidClass and Meguiar's NXT, but the products reviewed, tested and introduced here are completely new to me.
And it is really hard to get an outline over all the sealants, waxes and quick detialers mentioned here - I have already problems with the abbreviations of them and do not know which are ment!

So I decided to start this thread and ask for the help of you experts:
my MK4 hs a new custom paint job and I am searching now for prodcuts with the aim
a) to accent the effect of the paint job and to make the metall flakes in it sparkling,
b) to get depth and this wet-look and of course
c) to protect the paint job as good as possible

Here is a pic of my new paint job

(sorry it is not the best, but I think you can see its effect and the metal flakes)

I would be very pleased if you guys help me out by naming the products with that I will reach my above-named aims and become great results..
Thanks already + greetings

Yes, you must let it finish outgassing to fully cure!! Too many people come here to ask why their paint swirls and scratches if they just look at it funny and it's because they waxed it too soon. Best to wait at least 3 months as a general rule, sone folks would say even longer.

Its actually best to ask the paint shop that did the work. I have heard many times to wait 30 days.

I disagree. It's best to ask the companies that make the paint, as mirrorfinishman did.

First of all wait 90 days before you seal in that new paint to be on the safe side. Then I would use Zaino Z2 Pro on it which will acheive all 3 of your objectives.

Agreed! I don't trust what many painters say about paint (sounds weird I know). Especially the old school ones that use dirty rags off of the shop floor to wipe the car down after they are done painting. LOL

Re: Which products best for my new custom paint job (pic inside)??

If you've already waxed the paint, I advise that you should do a light polish to remove whatever wax/sealant you applied in order to let the paint finish outgassing as we've mentioned.

While you're waiting on it to cure you're perfectly safe using a glaze such as Megs #5. It provides a minimal amount of protection and adds a nice shine.

Assuming that the paint is cured I would wait for the new Poli-Seal - I have not used it yet but from the reviews of the tester it seems like it will be a nice product.

Re: Which products best for my new custom paint job (pic inside)??

It is now 2 weeks ago my car was painted.
I have just mailed the company how long the paint job has to cure.

How should I wash my MK4 - can i use car shampoo actually??
Can i use a glaze like velobard posted, or would that bar my new paint job from outgassing completely? Provides a glaze any protection to my paint job or is it just like the name says for glazing?
Which glaze do you use and advise to me?

Are there any other prdoucts you advise
a) to accent the effect of the paint job and to make the metall flakes in it sparkling,
b) to get depth and this wet-look and of course
c) to protect the paint job as good as possible??
Are there products sepcially made for accenting the effect of custum paint jobs and making metall flakes sparkling??
Would you combinate/layer different products to reach the best results - which products??

Thanks + greetings

Re: Which products best for my new custom paint job (pic inside)??

As stated before with regard to washing it would probably be best to email the paint manufacturer about how long you should let it cure.
That is some serious flake in your paint. Like someone else said I personally would go with a couple layers of Z2 topping it with Z8. Nice longevity, brings out some really gorgeous flake pop.
How about some full car shots?
