All is not lost! I have a 2nd direct drive polisher that can accommodate that type of mounting. I guess we've grown too accustomed to the soft flex hook 'n' loop backing plates.

Am I using the PC cable for the #1500 polish?

Thx.

thanks for the answer,i was using ip and fp11.i cant wait till this stuff gets here and try it since i screwed up and introduced more swirls this winter.so do you think it takes less time to clear up minor swirls with the presta lite then with ip,and would fp11 be good after presta lite or not needed.

thanks.

Thanks again!

Yes they are. Very good pads and I have been using them for 10 years now.

I also have been using the presta pads which is the edge 2000 and they work very nice. The 8'' foams work awesome with the hitachi and run very smooth and balanced.

Schlegal pads are great though!

Re: I found my favorite light compound/polish! OTC too

actually you could be right about that Al cause I was just thinking about that. I was down at don kennetts the other day in lowell and I noticed the name edge on the schlegal pad and I thought that was kinda wierd, but I did not look into it. It was just a glance at them.

I just realized after I thought of how long I have been using them for and it might be even longer than 10 years and maybe more like 15. Edge has not been out that long, atleast I do not think so

Re: I found my favorite light compound/polish! OTC too

what I see is Edge calls thier pad the classic...schlegal calls thier pad the edge from design...

little more info...

When the original Edge™ pad burst onto the market in 1994, every
existing foam buffing pad in the world became obsolete. The Edge
quickly won popularity for its convenience, durability and economy.

I used shclegals before 1994 ...the foams also....

Re: I found my favorite light compound/polish! OTC too

same here.haha

I know the edge classic is the edges first system. the edge 2000 is the new locking spindle with the 2 sided locking pad. I am sure you know that anyway. I recently just started using the Edge2000 and they are ok.

I am gonna order some more shclegal pads cause they work flawless and glide very nice.

Re: I found my favorite light compound/polish! OTC too

A local place in town carries all the Presta stuff. A few days ago I bought 5 wool and 5 foam labeled Presta pads (licensed from Edge 2000) . They have all the Presta polishes too.
