I was a big time 3m and megs freak back in the day cause that's what everyone else used. I went in a store back 10 years ago and tried to buy some 3m, but they did not have any. So my friend worked at the store told me to try the presta 1500 and I was more than impressed and have not looked back. I am not saying that 3m stuff is bad, I just found something that works faster and safer with an end result that was amazing. 3m just seemed to marr a lot and it was a flat shine.
I love thick clean gloss with a reflection you can see for a mile. When I had a mustang years ago I use to take it to car shows, everyone use to ask me what wax I had on it, and I use to tell them Mothers (back when I use to use it). They would think I was lying and some would even argue with me and tell me it must be a repaint, until I showed them every jam on the car. I would tell them it was all prep, wetsand, compound, polish ( I would never tell anyone what I used back then) and some were just amazed! I then use to land detail jobs left and right.
I Love autopia and everyone here, so I want to share this stuff with all! Even with 15 years experience, I still learned quite a bit here in new products and the pc (the tool I always dreamed of)

But, I'm trying to get most of my supplies locally and the Carquest I go to has all the Meg's, 3M and Duragloss products. It's not that a don't support the e-stores, I have to the tune of $1,100.00 last year. It's just I like to pick up the product, look at it, smell it and talk with the store manager before buying. Most of the time the prices are about the same, I pay sales tax instead of shipping and don't have to wait for UPS. One of the web sites I checked on for Presta, had a good price for the product but about 12 bucks for UPS ground - ouch!

My whole family thinks I have major issues, plus I have been buying stuff almost every other week for the past 10 years. I just hate when I waste my money on something that does not work. I do have some pretty amazing polishes now. Buying new stuff is the only thing that keeps me from hating detailing. Now I just can't wait till spring!
My girlfriend gets so mad when I buy another polish. I try to hide it but when ups comes it's a dead giveaway. That's why I love otc products.... she never will know.
My Girlfriend Me:
I am surprised also that autopia does not have counciling for guys like all of us that can't stop buying new detail stuff. It's all fun though and I am glad that we have this site to chat with and share product info with each other.

I was reading on the forums at the autobodystore.com and alot of people were commenting on how they like the Sure Finish line better. They were saying that they go a better final finish and that it doesn't contain fillers like Presta does(not sure which products they were talking about). If you have used both lines, do you still prefer the Presta line and why?

I see you hooked up with them, cool. Did you take a walk around and check out their selection on the shelves?
I can highly reccommend thier Excite Instant Finish Glaze. Mostly all of the Aratari labeled stuff is autobody safe which is one reason I use it.

The Autobody Store is in NJ you should give Len a call and ask him. One thing about Len is that he doesn't sell what he doesn't like.
