It's a compound actually, but it finishes down to a finish polish. It's designed to take out medium to like defects, scratches, and swirls. It's micro abrasive diminishing beeds break down pretty fast while correcting the paint and finishes off to a nice gloss. I have not tried it on black yet, but my body shop guy says it will finish out like glass on black. I even tried it on a dark green car that was pretty rough by hand and it looked EXCELLENT after 1 minute of rubbing. My body shop guy said, "be prepared to be amazed" and I was. I am a long time user of presta compounds, but this is the first time I used the ultra cutting creme light.

When I use to detail boats (worst gig ever) I use to use the regular ultra cutting creme and it would cut better than any other compound out there. On severely scratched and oxidized cars that no other compound would work, ultra cutting creme regular would make ease of it and bring it to a nice glossy defect free surface in a minute. It is very fast working stuff. Then I would follow with chroma 1500 and bring to an extreme gloss.

This new ultra cutting creme LIGHT is designed for medium to light scratches and oxidation and will take it from ugly to great in a short period of time.

Just to clear up products and help out everyone.

Ultra cutting creme- heavy duty compound that will take scrathches and dullnes and turn into a gloss. A finish polish is required to finish off to a gloss. (chroma 1500) been using for 10 years.

Ultra cutting creme (light)- Light duty compound that removed medium to light defects and brings to a high gloss shine. I just started using this.

Chroma 1500- A chemical cleaner (non abrasive)that will take out light defect or more depending on pad usage and bring to an extreme high gloss. I have been using for 10 years.

Presta only takes phone orders. Look in the yellow pages and find autobody shop supply stores and see if they sell it. Most highline shops carry it.

Actually those of us who do autobody work and re-finishing have known about it for the longest. You won't see uber collections of different polishes or compounds on the shelves at suppliers maybe 2 or 3 tops. Although the Detailing supplier local to me does carry a more extensive line (including Presta) but not many of the boutique brands we talk of here.

Visit the store over at my other hangout Autobody Store if you want to order some.

The owner/operator of the site/store is a autobody shop owner from way back, give him a call or send him a email (name is Len) if your out of the USA and want to know if he can ship to you. Tell him Greg in Rochester NY sent ya over.

EDIT:

I wouldn't consider the Presta line OTC in as much as your not likely to find it at just any store. You need to go to a Autobody or Detail/Dollup Supply store.

rydawg:

Len in most cases is able to beat the prices on autobody supplies I need when compared to the two suppliers in my home town, and that's with shipping.

I buy my HVLP guns and compressors from him and a lot of other stuff too.

The forums over there are pretty lively as well. Len and a lot of the old timers there have been running body shops for decades and know their stuff.

Re: I found my favorite light compound/polish! OTC too

Thanks for the info ....this place place sells Presta also...it does not list the Presta ultra cutting creme light ..but he may have it and not listed on his site yet Collinite waxes from MacTec | car waxes, boat wax, and detailing supplies...

I called 2 body shop supply stores today besides the one near me and they either have it or can get it next day....so it may be a common product that the supply shops carry or can get...

I seen it work and it does a bang up job..

Re: I found my favorite light compound/polish! OTC too

Have any of you guys actually used it with a PC?
If so, what pad color in Lake Country?
Did it still work as flawlessly as with a rotary?

Re: I found my favorite light compound/polish! OTC too

Great job guys on the research! You guys are fast and good!

Changeling: On a beat car I tested a panel with pc yellow lc pad and it worked great! I tried a white pad and it worked great also, but took longer maybe 1 minute more. I need to try it on a black vehicle with a pc. I am sure it will work perfect.

I also tried it by hand side by side with other polishes and it removed the scratches the best and left the best gloss. I just wish it was warmer to do a whole car.

Re: I found my favorite light compound/polish! OTC too

Just found some here in Tulsa, OK. I'm heading over after work. Just looked up Automotive Body Shop Equipment and Supplies in the yellow pages and first shop I called had some.

Here's hoping that the temperatures this weekend hold up enough to do the whole car.
