I was fuming...to think that they can just send a different pad than what you ordered...they must be off their rocker - those curved 7.5" pads are the worst pad design ever! But all is well, cause they gave me a credit for it...not that I'll use it.

Regarding the orange CCS pad - I like everything about it except the dimples...I ended up getting a bit of sling and I never get sling from the orange LCVCs I have. The pad would be near perfect (for a medium cutting pad) without the dimples.
Ryan,
I have had the 7.5 pads for a couple of months and the 6.5 flat pads for close to a month.

I do find the curved pads have a lot of wasted space compared to the flat pad. I did'nt think I would find a pad that I liked more than the VCCE pad from LC. The new flat pads are working great for me. I use them with the rotary and can jump over to the Dynabraid with the same type of pad. No more having to cary two different type of pads.
I would not recomend a rotary novice use the orange pads.
I have tested all colors and find them excelent with the rotary and the dual action polisher!
I feel that with out the dimples you would have lot's of chatter with the rotary.

Ron,

You may very well be right about the chatter issue. Though it's funny, I've never had a problem with chatter and I attribute this to the fact that I grip my Makita directly with my bare hand with seems to give me more control...or maybe it's a technique thing...I don't know. I shaved a couple of the orange CCS pads I have so they are flat and do not get any chatter (I think the dual density foam on the CMA pads also helps). BUT, I did shave flat the 7.5" white CCS pad they sent me and got chatter...but this foam didn't shave as smoothly as I'd like either.

Yeah, on those curved 7.5" pads...it's like they are designed to be held up on edge, cause if you hold flat, there is a good 1.5" on the edge that does not contact the paint. Wierd.

And you're right, the orange foam (in any design) should not be used by novices via rotary...can be a bit squirly and grabby...and hell on door handles if you let the side of the pad contact. The white foam (the closed cell stuff sold at CMA) isn't far off either.

And I'm looking forward to testing out some of the new cross-cut pads Kevin at Kleen Car designed...apparently they are a slight modification of the new Meguiars pads (which he also helped design)...should be here any day.

They gave you credit? They sent me the same 7.5" CCS whites (3 of them) after I specifically ordered 6.5" CCS pads... I even sent unopened regular 7.5" VC pads back to swap for the 6.5" CCS flats. I really didnt like the VC pads as much as I thought I would... I think I sent back about 8 unopened ones.

Anyways.. after I received the new CCS pads and saw they "upgraded" the whites to 7.5" pads I was also fuming. I was even more fuming when the customer service rep I spoke with expected me to pay for shipping back to them to get the original 6.5" CCSs I actually ordered. Yeah....... right. I even thanked them for upgrading my order.... then explained that I had already returned 7.5" pads specifically for 6.5" pads... thats when he asked me to box them up and send back on my dime. After some "persuasion" he agreed to send me a RMA and pay for the shipping back. However.. I am heading out to detail a couple cars this weekend and reallllllllly wanted to use the CCS 6.5" white pads on the two cars Im doing. Oh well... Ill have to use my flat 6.5" whites. :

So.. back to what I was asking.. they gave you credit and let you keep the 7.5" pads for free?

Re: Lake Country CCS pads from Autogeek?

I got mine last week!

2 Finish Pads "Red", 2 Light Polish Pads "White", and medium cut pad "Orange".

I didn't want more since they will be used only on 1 vehicle

This is the same e-mail I received. did somebody get something different stating they were sending the free replacements or was that conveyed through a phone call ? I can wait , especially if they are sending 2 sets.

Re: Lake Country CCS pads from Autogeek?

Yes, they credited my card and said keep it, cause I too was fuming. Even if those 7.5" pads weren't complete junk, I'd still be pissed if they had they had swapped me with a decent one. Just crazy.

Re: Lake Country CCS pads from Autogeek?

Just came back from school and saw the package sitting at my doorstep! I have to say, Autogeek's shipping system is pretty strict. They have everything wrapped up in paper bags, filled with packing peanuts, and securely placed into the box. The receipts are carefully marked with each item being marked off when placed into the package. The replacements are going to be shipped later. Got my regular DA foam pads, one orange, one white, and one gray. Yippee!!

Thank you, Autogeek!
