Foam Pad Glaze

On my first day working with NY Detailer. I got to try out three of his paint products and one tire dressing.

The first one was the Foam Pad Machine Glaze.

Description
Foam Pad Machine Glaze: Used by machine utilizing a finish foam pad. Removes medium to heavy oxidation and minor scratches. Clean & protects in one easy step. Contains synthetic & chemical cleaners, durable polymeric materials and space age paint sealant. This product is safe for all new & cured painted surfaces.

I used this product with the PC and a white polishing pad from CMA, I removed it with a Meguiars MF. It applied and buffed like a dream, much easier than Pinnacle PCL or Meguiars #7. This product was used on a white Mazda pick up truck. The paint was oxidized but had minimal swirling (from what I could see, but had some scratches here and there.) I applied the product at 2 with moderate pressure, then moved it up to 4-5 until it hazed over. I then removed the residue with a Meguiars MF. The resulting finish, it didn't remove all the tar on the lower panels, but took off maybe 10% (compound with PC didn't even move the remaining ones with a cutting foam pad.) The white was whiter and clearer. The reflections were sharper. The surface was smoother (but not as smooth as it could of been with clay/cutting compound.)

After polishing with the Foam Pad Machibe Glaze, I used the Final Polish.

Description
Final Polish: This is a long lasting finish wax. Product removes light oxidation, polishes, brightens and adds depth dark colors. Six month durability. This product is safe for all new & cured painted surfaces.

It went on like Klasse SG, really easy, like spreading warm butter. buffing it off was also easy, like OG Blitz wax.

The resulting finish, deeper and a little clearer.

I used NY Detailer's Professional Detail spray a.k.a QD in the door jambs of the white pick up. The door jambs were a dark brown from all the dirt. One spray per jamb, a quick wipe and buff, and it was all clean and white again.

Professional Detailer Spray: Leaves a high gloss finish. Cleans & enhances all paint finishes. Quick & easy spray. Great for showroom & final detailing.

If I was pressed for time and wanted to have a car done to good-very good standards, I would reach for these products. Easy to work with, great results for the time spent on car. The products are inexpensive ($21 for a 32 oz. bottle of Machine Glaze and $22 for 32 oz. of Final Polish, should last a long time for a weekend detailer.) but these products work, I've used them and seen the results first hand

If I had time to spend on a car and do a complete detail (clay, remove swirls, seal, wax), I would reach for my Klasse/Souveran and other boutique products.

Looking at the big picture, these are two completely different markets. One for professional detailers and one for enthusiast detailers. The professional detailer has lots of cars to detail and must buy products in bulk, some pros may love to detail but want to earn money out of the business too. The enthusiast detailers (like most Autopians), can spare the extra money to buy more expensive products that are not sold in bulk (ie. Zaino, Pinnacle, Blackfire, etc. etc.) The weekend detailer also has time to experiment with application methods and can afford to have a whole shelf of product that has not meet their expectations (I have a box of product that I don't use anymore, mostly TW, AA, and some Meguiars.)

The professional detailer uses bulk products and time is a major factor. The products must work well, apply/remove like a breeze, give results, and be cost effective. The detail methods must be set so there is no error in a detail and the detail is being done in an efficient manner. The customer has to be satisfied.

Thanks for reading,
Jason

Thanks Bill

I'll keep you guys posted. If you need more info on these products e-mail me (like if you want to buy them )

Whoops forgot about the tire dressing. The description is on my desktop and I'm currently on my labtop, so I'll write up that review tomorrow.

Jason

Are these the products Jason? http://carpolishes.safeshopper.com/index.htm?535

I see these guys at car shows all the time selling their stuff. They are either lousy salesman or their products are not very cost effective. They said you can get 4-7 applications using a quart bottle of Final Polish. At that rate it certainly does not sound cost effective.
I was also not impressed by their demonstration of the Final Polish.

Since you used it, how many applications would you say you can get out of a Quart container?

Hey RIC, I'm pretty sure they are the same product, the final polish (middle) and the foam pad machine glaze (right)

4-7 applications per quart bottle....sound like a bad sales man to me.

I would say 3/4 to 1 ounce is sufficient enough for a medium sized car. So 32-40 applications from one quart bottle seems about right.

The poor performance of the product......bad application technique by the applier.

I didn't say it had poor performance, just that it did not impress me. It seemed no different then Astroshield or Liquid Glass. It felt like it contained abrasives so I doubt layering it would make a difference.
