I have used both the consumer line and the detailer line of Megs a lot, but now the vast majority of my
Meguiars kit is from the Detailer or Mirror Glaze range. To answer your specific questions:
1) The
Glass Cleaner concentrate is excellent. I perosonally find it a more effective glass cleaner than the
NXT that I uses to use, and the fact that its available in gallon sizes to dilute seals the deal for me on this one.
2) Both the Gold Class and the
Shampoo Plus are excellent shampoos. I personally find the Shampoo Plus to be a wonderfully lubricated shampoo which makes for a very safe wash. If suds are your thing, it productes plenty of these - I personally dont like this I tend to fill a bucket 3/4 with clean water and then add the shampoo and mix - that way I get a small amount of suds but a more lubricated wash solution (as half the lubrication hasn't disappeared in suds over the side of the bucket!). I would personally go for the Shampoo Plus over the GC, they are quite similar but for me the Shampoo Plus has the edge.
3) I only have experience of the
Hyper Dressing personally, and this was just a sample that I was sent by a very kind fellow detailer in the UK - can be diluted to varying degrees depending on how shiny you want the overall finih and works very very well in wheel wells. No experience of the other dressing I'm afraid. I now use Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care (bought in bulk through the trade range, in 5L quantities) for wheel wells just now though.
4) Generally speaking, there is a wider range of more "dedicated" products from the Detailer range I would say. The consumer range has been designed to be easy to use for the average joe on the street who wants to make his car look good - and they work very very effectively at this... Some of the products in the detailer range are superior however in my eyes - for example
Meguiars Last Touch is for me nicer than Meguiars Quik Detailer: better lubed, glossier looking finish, slicker. Thats just one example. I also prefer the Glass Cleaner and the Shampoo Plus. However, both of the product lines have been aimed at slightly differing (and in some cases widely differing) markets and both do perform extremely well in the markets they've been aimed at.
The one product that spring to mind to have a look at is Meguiars Last Touch spray detailer... excellent product with many uses ranging from general QD, to
clay lube to drying aid.
