Collinite 476S vs. 885 vs. 915?

Does anybody have experience with Collinite 476S (Super Double Coat) vs. 885 (Fleetwax) vs. 915 (Marque D'Elegance)? How they stack up one against each other?

Re: Collinite 476S vs. 885 vs. 915?

I've used 476S and 915.
476S on a Prevost motorhome. Still slick to the touch.....after 2 months and a trip to Colorado!

The same for 915 but I love the warmth it gave to a certain light colored truck I did a few months back. I need to use it more. Thanks for reminding me.

A side note. Dampen your applicator with a QD before applying either. Then load it up with the wax. Once loaded, you should be able to do a full side of a car before going back to the tin. The dampness helps to even out the wax so when dry, you have no high spots that are hard to remove. Just keep it thin. It doesn't take much.

Can you describe how they would look if both were used on same vehicle? I am trying to decide which one not to purchase as I can not purchase everything I want

Re: Collinite 476S vs. 885 vs. 915?

476S and 845 are the most popular ones used by members on this forum. I personally use 476S. If you are looking for appearance, 476S is okay, but it's definitely not the best. Collinite waxes are known for their durability, not looks.

915 to me, is the higher end. Seems to give a deeper wetter look. 476 (885) will probably last twice as long. A year has even been reported by some. If I was buying one, it would be the 915.

Hope I've helped.

Well I just bought them both from AG about an hour ago. We'll see.

Re: Collinite 476S vs. 885 vs. 915?

I remember hearing a few different people around here saying that employees of Collinite have claimed that there's no difference between 476 and 915 other than the price tag. Not sure how much truth there is to that though.

For what its worth, I do like 476 over 845 for durability's sake.

Amazing though on how much they all smell alike. Even the liquid 845 and 476S paste smell similar. Their leather wax is good stuff by the way.

I am looking for something very affordable or affordable that will have great durability and better looks than what I have sitting practically unused from my "didn't know better on how to do it right" pre-Autopian days for use on my g/f's old neglected Blazer or on the cars of the people that didn't put wax in years and will not put it again in years after I put it and don't care that much and will be happy that it is has been handled for them.

You know, cars I wouldn't spend #16 or P21s on.

Before I forget, what is sitting right now is:

Wax Shop Super Glaze HD (what this is?)
Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Car Wax
Zymol Cleaner wax
Mother's Reflections Premium Polish wax
Meguiar's Deep Crystal Carnauba
DuPont Teflon Car Wax
Mother's California Gold Carnauba Cleaner Wax sample
Meguiars' Cleaner Wax sample
