Out of curiosity, has anybody noticed a thicker reading after a coat of LSP?

If they did it was due to variability in measurement technique, not from the thickness of wax.

The thickness of a layer of wax is way, way, way smaller than the ability of any paint thickness meter to read.

Yes and the sensitivity of the meter will counter the difference in measurement.

has anyone uesd HighLine Paint Thickness Meter Gauge? it's the most cheapest price in market right now(249$ at ebay). i want to have one too but i just have no idea where it made from is it durable or not???etc. if yr guy farmiliar with it, pls review it for me!

I've not used it, but pretty sure it only reads steel and not aluminum. I can't find detailed specs on this brands. i.e. accuracy, if it rounds, precision, etc.

I am looking at getting a PosiTest DFT. They list for $695 but can be found for less.

I am heavly leaning towards the Phase II 3550, from Coating Thickness Gages lists for 445$ The dual metal reading, very good accuracy and high precision.

While the above meter sounds great please consider the error % and the interval reading in both mils and um. I've noticed this company does not post that info, I've emailed them for more info. If all things are equal the highline might be a consideration. However you usually get what you pay for, and I think the accuaracy will be less than the PTG by Phase II 3550.
