Optimum Polish - like water?

So I received my order of Optimum Polish from Autogeek... peeked inside the bottle to check it out and it was all liquid with tiny clumps in it!

After some research here, I see that there is an old and a new formula. I didn't have the "reformulated" seal on my bottle, so I promptly called them up and they are sending me a new bottle because I think I may have gotten the old formula.

In any event, I decided to shake up the polish I did receive and check it out.. it hasn't lost its water-like consistency.. is this stuff supposed to look like that? Any ideas? I shook it like crazy but it doesn't look remotely creamy.. just a cloudy water.

same thing happened to me . . . called and B*&^%ed and not only did they send me the new formula, they let me keep the old stuff.

if you want to try the bottle you have now, which un-doubtadly is the old formula, shake the living bajesus out of it. . . . you will hear the viscosity change, and when you take off the cap after shaking, it will look like polish.

You will also find a rough time getting the polish out of the dispensing cap - not to worry, when they send you the new formula, (i just got mine today) it flows out like the compound and hyper compound . . .

call them stat . . . they will take care of you. . .

Thanks for the advice - I did read that thread already.. and in fact, I already called them and the new stuff is on the way next week. Problem is, I want to finish up my detail this weekend

Car is sitting in the garage after claybarring and I don't want to wait.

I shook the hell out of it for 30 seconds but it doesn't seem to be mixing.. how long are you supposed to shake this for?! It's so watery.

I'd pour it into a container and use a mixer (if you have one) to blend it properly. Once you get it the right consitancy, it works very well.

Or just shake and shake, till is mixes, don't hurt yourself though.

Excatly what scott said.....
try to use a clear container much easier to see if it mixed well....

heck take it to home depot or lowes dunn edwards or any place that has a paint dept see if they can mix it for you lol...

Sounds like they are still selling the old formula.

There is still some old formula circulating but that should just about be gone.

The old clumpy stuff still works and you can use it to finish your detail with no problem. As Scott said place it in a mixing device, like either a blender or a batter type mixer...or go to the dollar store and get a hand mixer....it will be a bit of an effort but the results will be worth it.

For the cap you can drill it out a bit if you like. This will hold you over till you get the new stuff.

wow, you shook it that long and nothing happened ? mine thickened up in about 20 - 40 seconds of rigiours shaking. id give it another go - i even used the polish with my rotary and it worked wonders - its worth a shot . . .

well - i finally got it to mix together.. shook it for over a minute and started to hear a change in consistency in the sound of the liquid... kept going and now its creamy. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow. THanks for the help!!
