Does anyone know of a product that can eliminate the "musty" smell that occurs when you have water damage. My Son's 99 Sebring had a blockage in the rear fender wells that did not allow water to drain, and the carpet was underwater for several days. All fixed now....but oh my.......that smell!! Tried shampooing today, but still smells. Any suggestions??

You will need to sanitize the carpet with a mold mildew product. Contact a janitorial supply company for the product or get a sample from a carpet cleaning company. After that you could deodorize with febrez antibacterial or others like X-O.

Zeolite is like charcoal it absorbs odors. But you must get rid of the cause first. Every odor needs a different solution.

For a one step product Valuguard's Odor Terminator. website Autoint.com. It works by poisoning the food supply of the odor.

Febrez and X-O encapsules the odor.

Enzymes eat proteins like spilled milk.

    Others change odors molecular structure.

Others oxidize the odor, like ozone.

Others sanitize or kill the odor causing organisms. This would be where i would start and then use an encapsule deodorizer.
