I just got back from Sam's Club and found they have a 25-pack of MFs for $11! And they didn't look like bad quality either, but probably reserved for "other" uses as opposed to hardcore detailing... They also had a 4-pack of Stoners for under $10 and the complete Meguiar's detailing kit for $9.99. Might be worth checking out!

My Walmart just shrank the aisle with the car care products. They moved all the auto paint products in there too. That means less variety. Some Meguiars stuff. Lots of Armor All stuff. No decent MicroFiber products.

My Target carries even less...just the Vroom MF.

But hey man..the Vroom MF's are pretty good OTC buys. I'd trust them with my paint. I went to Wal-Mart today and I realized that they didn't have Meg's GC Shampoo! And a few weeks ago I went and they had both the Aerosol and spray versions of SIG, along with EO 20/20...now they've got neither! I'm appauled.

I ended up going to Lowes to try out Spoiledman's grout sponge and to pick up some Stoner's since it was right next door. I ended up finding some Folex too! Great stuff.

Well... about the Vroom towels. I've used them twice so far, but last time I used it (washed once), it left quite a bit of lint. Same before that. I don't mean visible lint on the paint, but you can see it on the glass, when you drive under a direct light source. Anyone else experience this? Do you think it'll stop after a few more washes?

It's orange lint, btw, so I know it must be from the towel

sorry for the thread jack

I would suggest placing an order online delivered to your friend. It will already be boxed up and the quality will be much better. Two weeks is plenty of time to receive it. Check out detailcity.com they have a 10% discount on their website if you sign up for their newsletter. If you are placing a big order to ship overseas then 10% would save you some cash. Like many of the online detailing suppliers they have everything. I would suggest a 12 pack of their microfiber towels, some optimum car polish, poorboys sealant and some of their cleaining brushes.
p.s.
are there some restrictions on travelling with liquids now?

Not walmart or target but since alot of talk about Meg GC shampoo, I just picked a 160 oz bottle(I think) for under 6 bucks.

Skip the Rain-x. I won't go into all of the reasons why, just do a search here if you want some more info. I guess if you're willing to keep re-applying it over and over you can get it to work, but there's better options. There are other products out there that do ok, in particular Aquapel, which you'll never find at Walmart but maybe at an auto parts store. At least tell your friend to look for a spray product similar to Rain-X to make for easier application. Some guys just use wax like Collinite on their windshield. IIRC, Scottwax said NXT glass cleaner spray lasted as long or longer as Rain-X for a similar effect with water beading.

I wanted to try RainX before hunting down some Aquapel and I haven't had any problems with it at all. Application's pretty easy, and I get around 1.5-2 months before I just reapply it just for fun. The water beads up really nice on it and as soon as I hit about 30mph, water just flies off. I don't even bother using my wipers anymore.

NXT Wash, Euro Sheepskin mitts, and Meg's Tire shine (I like the HotShine aerosol).

For the cheapest Meg's products and most complete line anywhere: www.autodetailingsolutions.com

For all other products, shop around here, as most everyone offers a 10% or better forum discount.

This place also has some good Meg's deals:

I wonder if ADS price matches?
