Megs Diamond Cut

I picked up a sample of diamond cut to use on my girlfriends headlights. I already tried plastx and don't really want to wetsand them. The problem is, after talking with a fellow detailer he said that I can't use diamond cut with a pc. Any suggestions on how to use it with a PC or if it's even possible. I'm at my wits end with these headlights. Sorry in advance for no pics but they have some pretty bad hazing that the plastx wouldn't touch. I figured I could go over them with the diamond cut. Then maybe a different less aggressive polish. Sonus sfx-1 restore? and then follow up with the plastx.

Thanks in advance, sorry no pics guys/girls.

Josh

Never used Meg Diamond Cut but I looked at my charts and its listed as a 10. Which means its the most aggressive compound on the market.

Why do you wish to use such a strong compound to remove hazing from glass or plastic headlights? I would start with a light polish and then move up gradually.

1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, (maybe ad a 3000 to these steps), then 3M plastic cleaner, followed by 3M plastic Polish.

If the lenses are polycarbonate, just use a good metal polish on it. More effective and cheaper. NXT All Metal Polysh is excellent for this duty.

I've found it removes heavy defects but leaves behind more haze then is needed I think. It could be user error, But with a Megs cutting pad and that product on a rotary from the couple times I have tryed it, it left behind alot of haze. However when I followed up with #80 Speed Glaze on a Polishing pad it seem to do the trick.. I had to make 2 passes with it to clean it..

I had the pleasure of meeting Sean Busch (G35Stilez) he detailed my fiance's car... I didn't even want to touch it with some of the issues it had. I learned alot about polishes and realized that I was making things way to hard and there are much better compounds and polishes that are easier to work with.
