Tried DG #105 this weekend...my thoughts

Some people (MAYBE ME), have not read all the fuss about Zaino, (steps involed and time) for the average person the first time they use it.

I'm pretty sure everyone using Autopia is here for information, different kinds and for different purposes. Some people will spend whatever $ and whatever time to achieve the best appearance. What is the ultimate product, money and time not being a factor. Zaino seems to always pop up on everybody's list.

Some want to spend the least amount of time, & least amount $, and get a good appearance (not many on here), some want the info for professional detailing, and some are in the middle.

I want to use the best products which entails they are affordable on a large scale, easy to work with, and not time consuming. The more I know about products like Duragloss , Zanio, etc, the better informed I will be, and hopefully my customers will be better served. Eveything the owner of SUV with Zaino and its reputation he reiterated, about it's finish, it's time to put on, the mixing of chemicals, the cost of shipping, the attituted of the company when you contact them. I didn't say one thing good or bad about any of these things. I'm just saying that this ONE Particular person, out of blue, reconfirmed what the majority of people say about Zaino, the good and the bad.

What's the best products for me and my applications might not be what's best for you.

I also hope what the people say about Duragloss is true, as I am planning on trying their product line. After talking with their VP, you couldn't ask for a nicer guy who has a passion for their products. Does Duragloss products live up to their hype, I have no idea. I guess I'll be adding to my many bottles of products. Maybe I should start selling my 7/8's full bottles.

Don't worry your reading of DetailKing's post was not too far fetched unless you know DetailKing. He would never post anything that rude as your interpretation. Never!

You must remember that the majority of the hype for a product is created by the users of these products. Personally I know Sal hates over-zealous users of his products and the guys at DG have also been extremely low key about their product line.

Dedicated users of Zaino are very excitable about this product line because it works (for them). There is no better, best or ultimate product that will forfill everyone's taste, time, money, interest, prep skills, visual sensitivity to surface blemishes, courage level (paint correction technique: wet-sanding to PC), etc.

Recently members are discovering DG and it technical staff friendliness and openness has been a long standing policy at Zaino via Sal. Big order, first time user, long time user or the just curious with legitimate questions will be personally addressed by Sal if needed.

I hope the DG works great for you and make sure you let us know about your experience.

bottom line is that proper prep time is pretty much equal regardless of products used unless a person wants to do multiple coats in one day. Even then it's only about an hour extra.

I first became interested in DG thinking I could just AIO + 105. Now it sounds like I need their polish and "bonding agents". DG has become more complicated than I expected.

I don't think you need their bonding agent to achieve great results. I applied straight 105 to my paint after a wash, and I'm expecting good to great durability right out of the box. I definitely think you can do AIO+105 if you so desire. The bonding agent is not a must in the DG line, IMO.

I used to use their 101 and 111 polishes without the PBA, and never really had any issues.

The first time I tried 105 was over the AW I already had and I never had any problems with it at all. I'm not convinced that you need to use the bonding agent but it's a matter of preference or what shape your paint is in.
The last time I used the duragloss Cleaner/polish and then several coats of 105 and then several coats of AW. That was several weeks ago and many car washes ago . I now just spritz with AW after washing and it looks beautiful! Never had a problem with the 105 or AW bonding. Mike
