Are these Meguiars and Mothers bottle caps normal?

If the caps leak fluids so much, do they leak gas too much and make the shelf life too short?

Mothers Reflections Advanced Car Wax Product No. 10016, 3A5214

Instead of upright position, I laid the bottle. After a few days, I picked up that bottle and found the bottle was wet with oil with the Reflections smell. The cap was firmly in closed position. The label below the cap opening side was swelled and flaked off.
I rotated the cap and found that it was already torqued well (it did not rotate anymore with reasonable force).

My guess: During the few days, the liquid wax separated, and the portion with excellent fluidity (like penetrans such as WD-40?) leaked through the cap. My room temperature might have gone up 2~3 degrees C, because the weather became warmer recently. This might have helped leaking out the fluid. But anyway, if if the cap allows the fluid leak so much, then doesn't it outgas too much with everly day temperature fluctuation of usual room and garage?

Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax G-12718, J5231SSBE

Even though the cap is in closed position, some fluid comes out at the top of the green cap when I shake the bottle. I wipe it up, and shake again. Then I see leaked out fluid again at the top of the cap.

p.s.

Another finding on the "traditional" flip open cap:

Meguiars NXT wax cap has the flip open cap like Meguiars DC1, DC2, Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner. But I find that Meguirs caps flips open very smootly and Mothers Pre-Wax cap has more resistance. Since I compared only 4 products, this might be just due to manufacturing tolerance. If not, I would praise the designer of the old Pre-Wax Cleaner cap - it looks the same as Meguiar's but more attention to detail -. But I do not like the cap of the new Mothers Reflections cap because it leaked.

The most recently puched bottles among those 4 with "traditional" flip open cap are Meguiars DC1 (B6032ERMS) and Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner (3A4232).
Mothers did not leak from right after removing the seal and putting the cap. Meguiars DC1 leaked air when I pushed the bottle with moderate pressure (I could hear the air leaking out with the flip open cap in cloed position). I posted this problem at Meguiars Online, but no Meguiars representative gave any reply.

What happened to this type of flip opening caps?

I just bought Mothers Caurnauba Cleaner Wax (with 2006 new lable, 7A6080) bottle. The cap leaks air when I press the bottle with moderate pressue. The liquid wax comes out when I shake the bottle.

It seems that the flip opening cap supplier (for Mothers, Meguiars, etc.) is now manufacturing poorer quality caps.

This makes me hesitate to buy any product with such flip opening cap.

I thought it was just me. I bought Megs Endurance Tire Gel over the weekend and have found it has leaked some.

It may not leak on its own. You have to remember air pressure changes with temperature and weather systems. I notice it the most on a shampoo bottle...if you open it upside-down and the pressure has dropped since the day before, some will blow out on its own.

If you don't want to store any liquid in a bottle upright, be sure to squeeze it to see if air leaks out. If so, it will probably leak if it is on its side and the outside pressure drops. Flip-tops are certainly guilty.
