Hmmm...I never really have a problem with sling and the green pad...or any pad really unless my pad is saturated with product or I apply too much.

I usually apply a small amount to the paint, not in a line or a cross but just a drop of it. I then place my pad on that drop and begin polishing.

The compound is a bit more aggressive than the polish but still finishes down pretty well via PC. Hyper is definitely more aggressive than the compound and on hard GM paint, finished down pretty well with an LC yellow cutting pad.

I also have a bottle with a 50/50 mix of the polish and compound which does a really good job on harder paints but still finishes off as well as the polish. It does lightly haze softer paints but following with OP or 106FF takes care of it easily.

What I really like about the Optimum polishes is the lack of dust and that they are sun friendly (up to a point, obviously). I do have to work them a bit longer than DACP or 106FF to get the same results but time saved not having to clean up the dust makes it pretty equal in time spent overall.

Im on my 4th bottle of Hyper Compound and my 8th or 9th bottle of Optimum Polish and have no problems with sling. One pad that dose give off a little would be the 3M waffle pad.

Ron...that's about where I'm at - I ordered a case from Kevin at Kleen Car and I've now gone through it.

I don't know on those green pads - they just seem so porous...I guess I'll have to back the speed down cause I usually like to run around 1500-1800. I usually don't get splatter till about half way through the car but I wouldn't call the pad "saturated" at this point...I can baiscally do an entire car with other pads. Next time I go for the geen pad I'll try to cut down on product and see if that helps.

Thanks.

The green pads are good. I think durabilty is lacking. I use the Lake Country curved edge VC pads for most rotary work. The white pad that Kevin has is my finishing pad for darker colors.

Ron. I agree - I feel the AB/Propel pads are the best all-around pads for a rotary. And I too use the LC VC white pads for most of my heavy rotary work - these white pads are the most sling-resistant pads I have found (sounds funny, but I can run at up too 2,500 rps with these pads and get ZERO sling, not that I run at these speeds very often). I even use the white pads for compounding - with PG or OHC they finish down incredibely well, yet provide plenty of cut/aggressiveness.

Oh yeah...I the white AB is my pad of choice for finishing on dark-colored cars. I've performed a lot of hard work and experimenting to come up with the best product/pad combination...and funny enough it sounds like we have come to nearly identical conclusions.

Thanks.

from my experience OHC and a Edge yellow med cut pad leaves hologramming on dark colors- need to follow up with a less aggressive pad and polish (rotary)

Wannafbody - for sure! I agree...the Hyper Compound is aggressive and will leave very deep swirls for sure. On dark colored cars, such an aggressive compound usually needs to be followed with two subsequent steps, in my experience.
