Major Props to ClearKote Metal Polish!

A week or so ago, I suggested adding ClearKote Metal Polish to the Reviews section. It hasn't yet been added, so I figured I'd just post my review here for now, while I'm thinking about it.

I got a sample of the Metal Polish along with a holiday order, last December, and just got around to trying it a few weeks ago. This stuff is the best metal and plastic polish I have ever used! First off, on my motorcycle's non-CC'd aluminum wheels it almost effortlessly brought up the most killer shine I've ever achieved.

On the chrome bumper of a friend's old Toyota truck, I did half with Mother's Chrome polish and half with ClearKote. The difference in effort and results was phenomenal. The ClearKote took half as much time and effort and looked much better, in my opinion. Very nice.

Lastly, and what I was most impressed with, was what ClearKote did for my yellowed plastic headlights. Over the past couple of years, I have tried various plastic polishes, as well as other metal polishes on the headlights. All took significant time and effort to achieve marginal improvements in the look of the lights. Using the ClearKote was almost wipe on/wipe off ease with a simple blue shop towel. The lights look amazingly clear and smooth--almost brand new! Absolutely amazing results.

I have used the Clearkote Metal Polish and must agree it is a really good metal cleaner/polish. I have not tried it on clearn exterior plastic, but I will tonite.

Any pics of the difference between the two? I'd be curious to see how much better it was.

I've always have had great results with Clearkote metal polish on both metal and plastic.

Like ZJ JIM 96 said it works great on yellowed/cloudy headlights. Here is a 87 Mustang I did using Clearkote MP and a PC (polishing pad/speed 3.5).

Sorry. I should have taken a photo of the bumper for comparison, but didn't have my camera handy. And because of the visual difference, I redid the Mother's side with the ClearKote, to make it match. It's pretty much an old junker truck, so I'm sure it will dirty-up again soon enough. I'll try to remember to do the comparison again after a few weeks and take pictures.

To add to my description of the difference, the Mother's side looked clean, smooth and reflective, but with a somewhat yellowish tinge. I certainly would have considered it good, had I not had the direct comparison. The ClearKote side also had the clean, smooth and reflective part covered, but was significantly clearer and brighter looking--no yellow at all.

Hmmm, the metal polish is the one Clearkote product I've never tried. With Harley season in full swing, I guess I better snag me a bottle.
