Since Long Haul's Truck Gloss and Race Glaze's Gloss Highlighter seem to be the same-

I sent this e-mail to Long Haul:

I saw your product line-up at the north Arlington (TX) Pep Boys. I normally add a quick detail spray to my car wash solution to aid lubricity so I thought I would try the Truck Gloss. Not only did it work well that way, but as a pure quick detail spray, it was also very good. I have my own detailing business so I am constantly trying new products. I am curious though, I got a sample of Race Glaze's Gloss Highlighter from one of their distributors and it and your product smell and look exactly the same. Performance seems the same too. Do you relable their product or vice versus? It seems pretty obvious they are the same product. In any event, since I can walk into Pep Boys and buy your product while I have to order theirs online, I think you can see whose product is more convenient for me.

Anyway, nice quick detailer, I'll have to try some of your other products too.

And I got this reply today:

Scott -

Thank you for your input on our Truck Gloss product. Often times I show certain feedback emails to our President - he was quite interested in what you had
to say and asked if you would kindly give him a call so he can get further feedback from you.

His phone is: 720-529-XXXX or you can call on our toll free number - 888-564-XXXX

Kind Regards,

Valerie Krumholz
Long Haul

I didn't get home until late, so I'll try tomorrow, although being a Saturday I don't know if I'll be able to get hold of anyone so it may be Monday before I can talk to them.

i often wonder how often relabeling happens, and what legalities are involved ie: who is responsible for how that product reacts to peoples vehicles, is it the manufacturer or the relabeler? I would assume it's the one who collected the money from the consumer, since they are responsible for the directions, labeling, and packaging. just wonder sometimes

I asked two more customers today and they agreed both products look and smell exactly alike.

Uh oh! Looks like you broke their secret and the boss is going to put the clamps on you. Whatever you do, don't tell him where you live. A funny looking guy carrying a guitar case might show up at your door and want to play you a song.

All kidding aside, it would be interesting to see what his reply is as many products are private labeled for others with the same formula. It's very common in the cleaning industry. How would you compare their quick detailer to others that you use? I've been usuing Final Detail, but I'm on my last 32 ounces so this summer I'll be looking for a new one cause as you know, it's been discountinued. Have you used Meguiars replacement and if so, how does it compare to your other choices? I always liked Final Detail as it worked really nice and was inexpensive.

I really thought the performance of the Gloss Highlighter was great. If there is a locally-available "clone", I'd be interested to hear about it.

Right on Scott,

Let me know how it works out as I want to try some products on two Big Rigs I detail all the time. Since they do long hauls all over the country, I am looking for something that truck washes can not remove since they use a heavy degreaser in washing.

94BlkStang-it works pretty good. It isn't Quikshine, but it is better than any of the other consumer versions I've used-and at $5 for a 28oz bottle, it is a great product to mix into QEW so not only is the car clean but it also looks and feels freshly QDed.
