Good news the 4" SFX pads are available so I just orderd 2 each of the three pads for testing on my cyclo. I'll report back my findings with these pads.

Doug,

Thanks, I've been waiting for them. I ordered some yellow and white. I want to see how Menzerna behaves with them via Cyclo.

ditto , that's what I'll be using them with too. I think they will work well being that they are denser foam then most other pads.
We'll see , Bill I'd like to hear your thoughts on them after you try them too. Thanks

Good news!

I'm interested in buying and testing the new 4" SFX pads using a PC.

I discovered a while back, that using 4" pads with a PC can really "bump up" the cutting power of the PC, making the repair of more difficult paint imperfections MUCH easier.

If these pads perform as promised, the David's may have a real winner on their hands as Cyclo users AND PC users buy them to enhance the performance of their machines.

This is going to be interesting!

Be sure to use these pads with a proper machine polish. Also, if you're using the pad with a rotary or a cordless drill, remember that the smalled pad has a higher outside edge speed than a 6" or 7" pad. Be sure to feel (or measure) the surface temperature often to make sure your not working too hot.

This seems backwards to me. Shouldn't a smaller pad have a SLOWER outside edge speed than a larger pad? Unless it's because of load...

Hehehe, he is right you know! At a fixed RPM the outside track of a larger platter, foam pad, or of any kind of disk moves faster than the outside track of a smaller disk spinning at the same speed.

I think the extra cutting ability of a 4" pad on a PC compared to a 6" pad is related to motor load and the smaller surface area of the pad.
