303 Fabric Gaurd protectant review

so heres another goodie i got along with my othetr stuff, the 303 protectant for fabrics. so here goes...

my first impressions on the use of this 303 was not that great. first is sprayed all over the place, making it a real mess when ur trying to just do ur seats or other small stuff in the car. it just keeps splattering all over my plastic vinyl. wipeing it off was pretty easy and didnt leave stains of any kind. not sure if this was because of the 303 aerospace protectant i already had on though. furthermore, the liquid felt extreamly oily and unfomrtable to the touch. made me want to keep washing my hands to get it off. when i was done with the cars interior (which isnt that big nore does it have alot of fabrics) i was practically done with 1/2 the bottle! this might have somthing to do on my part but i never tried to over spray it. basically 1 even coat accross all my fabrics inside. so the quick use of this expensive product wasnt too appealing to me.

after a let it dry over night, i tested it by spraying some water onto my floor mates which have been protected by this rpoduct. surely it did bead pretty well and i just used a napkin to suck up the water i sprayed.

over all the application was not favorable, but it surely does what its made to do very well. after it dries it slightly leaves a nice new car smell kinda which is also good. on the fabrics it left a tiny tiny bit of an oily feel to it. but im sure it will go away pretty quick driving under the sun. bottle seems to run out quick and i dont have a big car. so it can get costly if u want to use this every other month or so.

I agree with your assesment. I ended up covering all the areas I didn't want sprayed with old towels before trying to apply the protectant. It definitely does what it says though...

If it does get on your vinyl, it is easy to wipe off. If you miss some it dries clear. I found this out myself. After one application it beaded like crazy. With Scotchgard you normally have to put two coats. 303 is definitely worth its price.

I agree about the smell. A lot mention a chemical smell when using this product. Doesn't bother me at all.

i just got it saturday...

so i shampooed/vaccumed with woolite heavy earlier today...man that woolite smells awesome....then i open this fabric guard and WHOA!!! it smells like turpentine....damn....of course im still putting it om for the winter but man...Ng...i hope it goes away....i wish woolite made a fabric guard...

ps...went out this am and it was all dried..i left all the windows open just a crack to try to get those vapors out...much better thi morning...not so strong an odor....but its still there...i guess im spoiled with the ever present Pinnacle leather conditioner smell that i love so much...and BTW...i too used almost the whole bottle for 1 full application...Ng has assurd me on his honor that the malodorous culprit will continue to disappear...
