Interesting Tire Dressing Review

I just tested out a sample of a tire dressing called Hi Top Tire dressing by Huey Chemical Corporation.

Seems to be a unique dressing that offers the best of both worlds of tire dressings: is water based ,has no sling but offers a high gloss of clear solvent dressings

Here is copy from their website:

Hi Top Tire Glaze is a unique water/silicone formulation that is clear and gives a high gloss finish to tires similar to silicone/solvent products. This product does not contain solvents and is environmentally safe.

Unique formulation designed to give the same performance as a mineral spirits/silicone product.
This product is rated as a non-hazardous product
Give a high gloss shine that is good for 5 to 7 days
Less sling than mineral spirit/silicone products
One of a kind product for the customer who wants a very high shine dressing for their tires
Simply spray on tire and wipe of excess from wheel

I dressed 4 tires and indeed this stuff looks water based. I have yet to determine if it slings or not but over all, it gave a nice, even shine to all of the tires simply by spraying it on the tire directly and wiping the excess. I did see water bead off the tires when I misted them with a hose.Next time I'll apply on a tire swipe first then apply to the tire, using less product.

Overall, too early to make any definitive conclusions about this stuff, sadly I think I only have a supply large enough to accomodate 8-10 tires and I just did 4. I'll watch over the next few weeks to see how this stuff holds up. Hmm..if I can find that this stuff is as *safe* ( if that is concern) as some of our favorite water based dressing, i.e. 303, Vinylex, then it looks like a seriously attractive product to add to the arsenal.

Check out Huey's line up, they have some interesting stuff including a low gloss tire dressing as well.

I think I speak for everyone when I say 'where the pics?!'

Looks like a interesting company, although half the site is under construction. I didn't check, actually, didn't see the price tag...is their stuff reasonably priced?

Yeah, I seem to be having a problem with the camera lately, if I can get it to work again sometime Ill try taking pics, I've been asking around for info on some slim digicams, I'd like to have one in my glovebox all the time.

Sorry, still fixing the camera but I can tell you I'm now disappointed. Not very long after I applied the tire shine , 2 vehicles total now, the gloss faded and the tires look dull, in fact it makes maybe one coat of 303 look rather glossy! The tires now just look like they were cleaned and dried well.
