Finish First

Has anyone tried this Finish First product by Liqui-Tech? It's supposed to be a polymer that can be layered.

I have searched the archive but those two words are tough for searches.

I would like to know the comparison to Klasse. I'm always looking for something "extra" but if has already been compared, I won't waste my money.

It is probably more like Liquid Glass, which is a good product. Finish First probably can't be layered like Klasse SG because it contains cleaners.

hey rob,
i'm an authorized finish first dealer and you can see which product i prefer. finish first is great for people that really only want to wax their car a couple of times a year. it produces a nice shine and has good longevity but there are better products imho. my father-in-law uses it and swears by it but i wouldn't trade in the k for it

Since I've only had my K for a couple of weeks there's that constant nagging in the back of my head that goes like this "Could there be something better?"

I have countless products that I know I will never use again, how many of us don't?

I have tried Liquid Glass but I think K is better. I was intrigued by FF's description saying it is a cleaner and it could be layered.
To add to the credibility, it was top rated by some Corvette group. Guess they all switched to Zaino.

Then you have the testimonials that nobody can believe

Oh well. I guess without curiosity we would not be here.

I used to use Liquid Glass and was really quite happy with it. I can't say that it was shinier or as durable as KSG, but I remember thinking at that time that it was the best product available for a long time! I can remember that water beaded for 4 to 6 months. It really wasn't until I found Klasse and Zaino in this forum that I knew there were other sealants better than LG. Although nobody has really said exactly why they are better..

Good point! Why? Durability, harshness, ease of use, shine, feel, smell, color, consistency, packaging, price, dust collection...

hey rob,
i think we are all looking for that "something" that is better. it is challange. i'm sure that in time better products will surface. plus all products are not good for all people, what works for one doesn't for another. i'd be kind of depressed if i knew that klasse and zaino are as good as it gets.

as far as klasse or zaino being better than finish first, i think they both produce a better shine. i'd be willing to bet that 90% of folks wouldn't know the difference, or care, but to those of us that have made detailing a hobby and not just a chore, subtle differences are big.

bigboyhf brings up a good point, what are the differences that make us decide which is better. i'd be interested in what everyone's thoughts on this would be.

is a good, all around product that excels at nothing but is good in all areas. You can layer it, and the more coats you use the better the shine, as I really did not bring out the paints color until at least the 3rd coat, and any additional coats are just the icing on the cake. After seeing Zaino and Klasse jobs, I rate FF right between the two. FF is not as "glossy" as Zaino and not as "deep, wet, ect" as Klasse but it's shine is in between the two. It's one product so you don't have the multiple steps of the others, applies easily and buffs out very easily. It's the favorite product of a couple of Vette forums and a Ferrari America forum.

Anyway, I top the FF with Blitz and that gives it that extra 'Pop'.
I am going to try Klasse or Zaino soon, just to test it against FF, but FF is a good, solid product. It does not get the credit it deserves maybe because it is a one-step product and serious
detailers think (maybe with good reason sometimes) that multiple
step products are better and address specific areas, like separate
polishes, cleaners, ect. (FF supposedly does it all) Anyway, unless your a serious perfectionist and want to pay for that extra couple of percentage points of gloss, FF is a good product.

OK first, as a Newbie, I would like to say what a great forum this is and how polite and friendly everyone is.

I was at a car show a couple weeks ago and noticed several car owners using a QD named Liqui-Tech Finish Fast Surface Enhancer. The guys that I talked to said they would use nothing else. I went to the web site and they give very little information about this product.

Is there anyone here that can give me their experience using this QD or even offering more information about the product.

I used to use it, but haven't really touched it in the last 3 years or so. Basically it is a QD that seemed to work fairly well, but I tend to like Quik Shine better.

The reason you saw guys at a show using it is because they (the local Liqui-Tech reps) set up at a lot of car shows and get exposure that way. There's nothing really magical about it, but you can buy a small bottle and see how you like it or how it compares to other QD's.

I do still have some of their metal sealer that I put on some of the chrome, stainless, and brass under the hood of my street rod. One product of theirs that I did not care for was the window cleaner...... I think I finally threw it away. The following site has a little more info on their products:

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like it was a more popular product several years ago and now guys have moved on to other products. Also thanks for the other web site and the tip on Quick Shine.
