NXT wash & Spray Wax

I've been using NXT over VM now for about a month and have been pretty pleased. I stopped tonight and bought the NXT car wash and NXT Spray Wax. First, I've been using Meg's Deep Crystal car wash and have been very pleased, lots of suds and very little spotting. The NXT wash had way less suds and I had to rewet each panel and the glass with a MF towel to get rid of spots where the car had started to dry after the NXT wash. The finish also felt less slick that after washing with Deep Crystal. To be honest the NXT spray wax left me as frustrated as I've ever been with a product. I put it on way thin, just like I used to apply Zaino, and it was so hard to get off that I had to used my QD to wet the stuff to get it off and it streaked badly for me. It's the first product I've purchased in a long time that I wanted to throw away without trying it a second time. This was a real let down after how pleased I've been with NXT wax. I just don't understand what it was, but I'm going back to the Meg's Deep Crystal wash, VM and NXT. Maybe I have a bad attitude towards the spray wax because it seems so redundent after the regular NXT wax. I admit to feeling a bit leery after reading on the spray wax directions that streaking may require you to re-apply the product. I guess to each his own, but I'm really bummed by the 2 hours I spent just doing the small hood on my CRV.

I agree with the spray wax. I tried using it on a Nissan Murano a few weeks ago and was really pissed off with how hard it is to remove it off paint.

How do you guys feel the NXT Spray Wax will work as a "touch-up" wax over the NXT liquid? You know...as something to possibly get that POP back after a wash..

I used the NXT spay wax on my intrepid Monday and it was not difficult to remove. I used a thin coat spread with a foam applicator by hand. I also waited roughly 20 minutes for it to dry and removed it with a microfiber towel.

Like the instructions said, I used it to refresh the previous coats of NXT from about a month ago. I am actually quite pleased with the results.

I think that with these types of spray waxes that the best way to use them is to pour the product into small 2 oz spray bottles (the kind that you get at hobby/art supply stores).

The manufacturers of detail supplies need to package their products in larger containers that might not be the best for our type applications. Extremely light coats can be applied using these bottles. They also help save $$ cause you aren't wasting wax.

I've been discussing this with Steve Poorboy. It was really his suggestion. Just passing it along.

I bought some NXT Booster Wax but havn't tried it yet.I think it may go on better if it's sprayed onto a MF first then applied to the paint versus spraying it directly to the paint.

I love the NXT wash and the spary wax.

I have applied the spray wax several different ways and have found for ME the best results come from applying it to a folded MF and applying it to the paint.

You will use a little more product, but you can cover larger areas and get a much thinner coat.

I apply it thinly to the entire car, then remove immediately. No streaks, very easy to apply and remove.

I can't imagine having such a bad experience with this product.

Did you shake it up well?

FWIW, the NXT Car Wash actually broke my hands out in a rash. In NXTs defense, I do have pretty sensitive skin but it's the first wash Ive ever used that caused that.

I just got done using the NXT Car Wash and I found it be just as good as the Z7 Wash I've been using.It was plenty slick and luby enough for me and left nothing on the finish that I could see.

It's always interesting to see other people's experiences with the same products. I tried the NXT wash again tonight on my daughter's silver CRV and had the same issues as I did on my dark red. I used exactly the amount called for in the directions and the car spotted badly and the surface felt like there was no slickness at all. Her car had also been done with NXt last weekend. I figure it must be an issue with my water since others seem to like the NXT wash. Just for fun, I took the NXT wash back to Advanced Auto where I bought it and spoke to the guy at the counter and he said he had another person with the same issue. He cheerfully offered to trade the product for another car wash if I wanted. I had been using Meg's Deep Crystal wash, but decided to trade the NXT wash for some Eagle 1 Wet wash since it had been mentioned in another thread as a good product. I'm always willing to try something new, I guess. As far as the NXT spray wax, I'm going to try it again after I wash my CRV with the Eagle 1. I feel like a mad scientist, and I'm sure my neighbors agree, except maybe for the "scientist" part!

My experiences with the NXT spray wax have not been good and its a product I will not use again. The amount of work involved in using this product is about the same as using the Tech wax, which provides better results. If you're going to apply something to an applicator, what's the benefit of spraying? Plus, the spray wax was not nearly as slick as Tech wax.

I'll give away both the spray wax and the protectant ASAP. Both are disappointing performers IMO.
