Vac N Blo as extractor?

I'm looking for a good vacuum and deciding between the home depot Rigid model which has 5.0 peak hp and 12gallons (i could get higher hp but 16gallons is getting to be too big), I could also get the vac n blo car vacuum (model VNB-83BA), but am wondering if it's powerful enough to suck water out of carpets?

the pros to getting the Rigid is that it's cheap, and powerful
cons to getting the Rigid is that i'd have to buy attachments, it's bigger/less portable, and the hose can get cumbersome i've found with wet/dry vacs.

the pros to getting the Vac n Blo is that it would com ewth all the attachments, be portable, and suit most of my needs

the cons to getting the Vac n Blo is price, and not sure if it'll do a somewhat adequate job of extracting water/shampoo.

thoughts? keep in mind i'm a mobile detailer.

I'm almost sure that the vac n blo cannot be used as an extractor since it's not wet/dry.
I'm in the same boat as you, looking for a portable vac for mobile use, and want to extract as well. Spent about 2 hours searching on here last night. I think I have my heart set on this model:

That one looks like it will do nice work, and the size and shape of it seem easily portable. It seems to have all the same specs as the one Scottwax uses. I think his is here:

It looks like the former comes with some better attachments. I'm leaving for Sears in a couple minutes. I'll post again when I scope both of them out and make a decision.

Yup, keep that Vac N Blo far away from liquids or you'll kill it quick! I don't even use mine to vac dangerous items like glass or metal. The dust bag is made of cloth and I'd be concerned with tearing up that thing.

As much as I love the Vac N Blo I also use a Ridgid wet/dry vac for the nasty work. The Vac N Blo is lightweight, quiet, and super powerful so if you need a portable vac, it's killer.

Shop the "inches of water lift" spec, not the HP spec. The real diffs in vacs is in their water lift spec, HP is meaningless and primarily marketing hype. Have fun shopping.

For sucking up water on carpet/upholstery I have a Craftsman 6.5HP Shop-Vac. It's kinda large for hauling around but it works very well. It also converts into a leaf blower than blows at 265 mph. Works quite nicely. And yes, I do haul the beast around with me.

check this one out, not as small as the others, but 30 bucks less with the same specs...I just got one yesderday, only downside is no attacments, ill have to get those....
