Buffing out a 63 Corvette tonight... if someone is interested....

Hi all,

Tonight I'll be buffing out a black 1963 Corvette for the first NXT Garage event.

If one or two Autopians in the Irvine area would like to stop by and check it out, please feel free.

Here's our address,

17991 Mitchell South
Irvine, CA 92614

I was hoping the finish on this car was horrible, but instead, it's pretty decent. It does have scratches, (RIDS), throughout the finish, so the goal is to remove as many as possible tonight starting with a heavy compounding session using the rotary buffer.

Afterwards, I'll work the finish up to the LSP and call it good.

OctaneGuy will be here to capture the buff-out on video.

If the garage door is down, (It's the big double garage door), just bang on it and we'll open it for you.

I just thought I would throw the offer out there...

If needed, you can try to reach me in the garage at,

1-800-854-8073 ext. 155

Mike:

How about giving us a day (and approx time) in advance to schedule a visit when you are doing a car? By the time I read the post, it's late at nite or traffic hour is in full swing.

Gotta love those cars. I can't wait to try NXT on this one that I prep for shows. The paint is so thin that I really hesistate to go much further when it comes to polishing, but the owner, bless his heart, still induces some swirls here and there.

Hi Sci-Fi,

Sorry about that, next time I'll post a few days ahead of time.

Here's a finished shot... (just before 4:00am, man I'm beat, time to go home and hit the hay).
