I had similar results from touch up pens from
www.paintscratch.com. My paint (Mustang Laser Red) is a 3 stage metallic, pearl paint so I had to lay down a base, color coat and clear and the match was exact. The only problem I have with touch up pens is that after the first use and you put them away, when you go to use it again they are clogged and lumpy. You no longer have much control over the paint. I found myself dabbing the pen on a piece of cardboard and using a toothpic to apply. I don't think I would buy the pens again. I recently bought the same paints from
www.paintscratch.com but, this time in the traditional little bottle with the brush in the cap.
