I'll have to check that stuff out, then. This summer my wife and I are planning on taking a road trip to the Sun...

It might be a decent product, but I just get turned off to anything that tries to sell itself falsly. It just makes me wonder what else they are being inaccurate about.

Hey BlkZ28, Si is silicon, not silica. But as you said, it is distinctly different than silicone. Silica is like sand, which I believe is SiO2.

Thumbs up Re: Glare Polish??

I used it on my Lexus ES330.

I purchased it at 11 months old with 45K miles. The finish was ok by most peoples standards, but nowhere near what I consider acceptable.

I ordered three products from the Glare folks after discussing the products with them at length. I ordered Spider, Knockout, and two of the Auto polish.

I used them according to their instructions.

They took my finish from maybe a 6/10 to a 8.5/10. I received a great many compliments and I have to say they make a very nice porduct.

SUMMARY

PROS:
- Works as advertised.
- People at Glare are easy to reach, friendly, and very patient.
- Glare is a perfect name as it looks so wet it is a glare from the sun even on a cloudy day.
- Very slick. Made cleaning bugs and road tar off much much easier. Usually just a wipe.
- Pretty amazing lasting power. Dealt well all winter long.
- Does not shadow or streak ever.
- Very easy to apply and remove the excess Autopolish.

CONS
- To use their system per their instructions requires A TON of work the first time (only). I would say expect two days of solid work. Once Spider and Knockout are done, and you keep the Autopolish up, you will probably never need to spend this kind of time again.
- Leaves white gunk in black trim and along seems.
- Gives amazingly wet super shiny apearance, but does not have the amazing depth of a high end wax finish.

In my opinion this is a pretty honest product. It does what it says it does, looks like they say it does, and lasts well. Mine still looked pretty great after a Pennsylvania winter. I do not detail my car (other than a carwash) at all in the cold months.

Want a wet slick finnish? I can say without reservations that this is a good option. I am a pretty satisfied customer.

Re: Glare Polish??

Knockout can be a ***** to work with as it dries out real fast but it works on a wide variety of painted and unpainted surfaces.
Micro finish and pro polish work well with cheap and pro orbitals but there is a learning curve I haven't mastered yet with rotary application

At 1800 rpm with a rotary, the pro fills in some or most of the orange peel on some cars
Not the be all and end all of car care products but a fantastic line that lasts a long time and has taken out the need for abrasive polishing on my garage queen

Re: Glare Polish??

A buddy of mine used it a while back and it shined like crazy, but like others have said, it didn't last/bead very long.

Re: Glare Polish??

well the shine doesn't go away but sheeting doesn't last that long, unless you use a QD after each wash or two to bring it back

Hopefully glare zero will fix that as apparently it changes the surface tension permanently

I'm no expert, but isn't oxygen the leading cause of oxidation?
