Okay, so I have been trying to read up and get some information on this new towel some people are using. I have read a lot of the NanoSkin towel but when I go to DB's site I only see the pad you use with a polisher. Then I read about SM Arnold, who I have never heard of, and its called the Speedy Surface Prep Towel. I believe theres another company too but can't remember for sure. Some websites are showing the blue edge and some are showing the grey edge. Is there one site that has both?

Also I keep reading conflicting reports saying you can use it with soap and water/ONR and others saying NOT to use with soap and water/ONR. Most of the time I clay with a foam gun as my lubricant, will that not work with these towels? Do I have to use their QD such as Glide or Shock or can I use a different QD?

I am just trying to get some solid info, maybe not about method such as soap and water/QD, but more about who is making them and where to buy the correct ones. Sorry if there's a lot of questions. Haha

I have the blue Nanoskin Prep towel which I purchased at Towelpros. 3D is also offering a towel as is ADS and autopia care care. SM Arnold markets both the blue (regular) and gray (fine grade) towels. Charlie Hahn has posted threads testing both of these towels . I wouldn't think it would be very long before most vendors will carry both versions IMO. I have been using the Glide lube that came with the towel but many have posted success with using many other types of qd as a lube.

HD Nano Prep - Clay Bar replacement - I believe SM Arnold has the rights. I really doubt that there is a difference in the products except for the color of the towel.

As far as what lubricant to use with it? I just used HD free, waterless wash, and 3d pink car soap mix in a bottle on 3 different cars. They all worked just fine, just like using a clay bar. I hope this info helps.

Thomas I think you will find that all of the vendors that offered the original version of the towel were blue ( regular grade). The only gray towel I've seen todate is the SM Arnold gray (fine grade). These are the only two colors I have seen offered .

Notably, ADS currently only has the regular grade (blue) towels, while ACC/AG both carry only the fine grade. All of the versions of this towel (SM Arnold, Nanoskin, HD Nano Prep) come from the same source, a company in Taiwan that holds the patent on them along with the Magna Sponge and Autoscrub pad systems. My understanding is that SM Arnold has exclusive rights to the Speedy Surface Prep Towel, which they license out to others who offer it.

I'm running behind on editing and uploading the video I shot comparing the regular and fine grade towels, but I will say that while there is definitely a difference between the two, it's minimal at best.

Thanks Paul - I thought the OP saw the original grade in 2 different colors.

Ok thanks everyone for the info on these. The brands were messing me up, especially since I couldn't find the towel under NanoSkin though people were calling it that. I could only find their pads meant for a polisher.
Sorry for the confusion, I meant the two colors as original and fine grade.
You don't get on the forums in a while and you miss a bunch of sh*t. Lol that will teach me! Thanks again.
