Frank Li showed me this new light from Festool and after watching a video of it in action I figured I'd give it a try. With a 30day money-back guarantee, why not?

It is BRIGHT! It will immediately put spots in your vision so don't look directly into it. Now is it a full replacement for 1000w halogens? No. But, it does have enough power to highlight defects on paint and with 3 different light dispersion angles (depending on which side you set it down) it is much more versatile than the halogens. It can also go into smaller areas, and get lower angle lighting for spots like lower rockers/bumpers MUCH better than halogens. Its also lightweight and doesn't really get hot. I've noticed my garage significantly cooler with this light vs the halogens. Also when you have it on a tripod, you don't have to move a heavy and often unbalanced set of VERY hot lights around your client's vehicle. Your tripod (camera style) is super light and its those little things over the course of the day that reduce fatigue. You can also attach most standard Lithium-Ion battery packs to it for additional running time. Also has a convenient hook to hang it from just about anything. It is expensive at $175, but the more I use it, the happier I am with it.

    Some pics with it....
