Looking for Tire Shine Product...

I have used all of the boutique brands of polishes and waxes over the past nearly 5 years of my detailing obsession, but one thing that has remained unchanged is my use of Meguiar's Hot Shine for tire gloss (well, I used Stoner's More Shine Less Time and thought it was too dull).

The reason I am thinking about making the switch is primarily a value proposition. Spending $5.99/can (for a limited number of thorough applications) is a little expensive.

Is there another tire gloss product that provides the same intense look/shine and durability at a lower price point?

Thanks!

Re: Looking for Tire Shine Product...

I use the Hot Shine as well, but I did consider this one:
Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel.

For $18, I'm not sure it would be worth it, but I'm throwing this out there to see if anybody likes/dislikes it..

Re: Looking for Tire Shine Product...

For OTC with lots of shine, its very hard to beat AA Tire Gel and Mothers FX tire shine.

Re: Looking for Tire Shine Product...

when you mentioned 5.99 a can i'm guessing it's a foam type of tire shine.

I have used Black Magic

not sure how it would be priced in your area but it lasts for a while and it shines pretty good. It use to be just under $4 a can here but living in hawaii vs the mainland im sure you can find it for less.

If you spray it on a applicator and a tiny bit on the tire you get more coverage as well and more tires per can.

also if you want stuff in bulk. After searching and searching BTW thanks for the thread as it made me search again . . . . .

i found a product that i used when i first started my business.

Made by Pro Car Beauty or Pro Car Care:

Wet Look . . . . was a great product. It's $25 for a gallon of it.

My selection doesn't need to be OTC as I order from the major sites atleast 1x per month. Thanks!

The Hot Shine is an aerosol but not a foam.

Thanks for the tip. I had thought about using Right Look products as they come in bulk and have a decent reputation. That said, I have stopped most of my side-detailing and just do my 3 cars...so a gallon would last damn-near forever.

Keep any/all suggestions coming. Is something like Optimum Tire Shine going to fit my requirements or is it more of a matte sheen?

It has some shine, but not much. Sound like you are looking for something that looks like clearcoat on the tire, right?

Thats a good description. After a few days it dies down a bit, but definitely retains a noticeable gloss.

Thanks! What size bottle would be a good bet (how many oz would you say you use on a typical set of (4) tires) ?

Re: Looking for Tire Shine Product...

Does the duragloss 253 sling? Some people here have recommended Tuf Shine, I tried it and didn't really like it.

Duragloss 321 and Surf City Beyond Black. I was able to grab a bottle of the SC on clearance for $9.
