Re: Sealing Windows - Aquapel or just plain 'old sealant

I hugely prefer Aquapel, it lasts a good 6 months here, and it works great!

Re: Sealing Windows - Aquapel or just plain 'old sealant

When I was a noob, 1st product was Rain-X. Don't even ask how my experience was with their anti fogging product on interior windows.

I have never had any squeaking issues with Aquapel. Again, your experience with vary with your glass if not your blades. Some glass is harder or softer just like paint.
However, the beading does help water just fly off a at decent speeds. Maybe not driving in city speeds but but it does help IMO

+ a bazillion

aquapel is cool when you put it on for the first time, but during a big texas storm with wipers a wipin', you get bored fast of the constant chatter.

Re: Sealing Windows - Aquapel or just plain 'old sealant

I must not live in too much of a rainy state or have had really good luck with wiper chatter ;-)
Go figure.

In all my years of Aquapel, I've done nothing special. I don't go to town on prep prior. Granted if I am taking clay to paint, I will do the windows but I have never even clayed my windows specifically in prep for Aquapel.

I just make sure the windows are clean, MF/ISO wipe and then Aquapel away and no chatter. However, and this is where it's subjective...I alway make sure the rubber is fresh with either a new set of blades or wiper itself. This has always been my preference regardless for best visibility . Safety has always been key to me so spending a lil money on blades is cheap insurance in the light of good wiper performance. The same rule on rubber applies to tires....

Re: Sealing Windows - Aquapel or just plain 'old sealant

I put Aquapel on all of the windows of my little Nissan pickup truck last January 2009. I consider the windshield just now kicked. Not much rain flying off anymore especially where the wipers wipe. The side and rear window are still beading strong and rain still flies off. RainX is not even close to matching its durability.

No chatter problems with the wipers. I think every model of car will be respond differently as far as chatter with the different windshield slopes and tension on the wipers and then add on the condition of the wiper blade

I normally only apply Aquapel to a customers windshield and then apply 476S or one of the WOWA sealants to the side & rear windows.
