I did that the last time I waxed the Volvo wagon, and on the Jag I use
Souveran over Autoglym SRP...so yeah, IMO it's a viable idea.
Using
Souveran over something else *does* affect the look, but I wouldn't generalize it to the point of better/worse. You've just gotta try it and see what you think.
I'd spitshine if doing this, people have had Souveran mess with underlying Collinite, and that's some pretty tough stuff. I spitshined Souveran over 476S on the Volvo, using Griot's SpeedShine for the "spit".
