Bug removal recomendations?

What are some good products available for bug removal that work and are affordable? I previously used bug slide (from my harley shop) but my connection has closed and the nearest is now an hour away.

I always use some old womens nylons. They seem to rip them right off.

Great...now I have to deal with a mental image of old women ripping off their nylons! GRRR

Re: Bur removal recomendations?

I use APC for everything, including bug removal. A 1:4 mix of Insta Finish Super APC will remove them with very little effort.

Re: Bur removal recomendations?

I've had good luck using a cheap microfiber towel that has been dunked in the wash bucket. The thin ones will stick to most surfaces and bugs will wipe off without much effort after soaking for a few minutes (thanks to David F. for that tip). I have also used the safe scrub bug sponges (Autogeek and other sell then) during our semi-annual love bug seasons.
Remember to apply a LSP after unbugging your ride with anything harsher than car wash soap.

Re: Bur removal recomendations?

I just used Duragloss Bug Remover on my car and it worked great. If I'm going to wash the car, I'll use SC Grime Destroyer as a pre-soak on them.

Re: Bur removal recomendations?

i use the bug sponges too !

I detailed a vette that had been on a 500 mile round trip and i soaked towels in warm water, then place them over the front end for about 5 minutes. then washed it normally with megs GC shampoo and used the bug sponge..... came right out !
