Re: "Winter" Wax/ Sealant
Well if your interested in buying a new LSP, you definitely can't go wrong with Collinite. I'm using 915 this winter, layered over Tropicare Sunburst Sealant xp

Isn't FK 1000p a pure synthetic protectant?

Heh heh, sorry...I just couldn't resist
I do use #16 on my wife's car year-round, but it doesn't hold up anything like 476S did when I used that on it for the winter (same car, same conditions, same everything). There are a few products that outlast #16 for me, but hey, it's still a great choice anyhow.

Re: "Winter" Wax/ Sealant
My winter wax consists of NXT (applied 2x to ensure proper coverage, and also ease of use) followed by 1 application of #16. If given enough time, I usually hit JUST the horizontals with a second application of #16.
This will last me months of northern California rainstorms, which have been close to non-existent the past 3 years.
I car down... a few more to go, unfortunately.

I have to agree. I just detailed my Acura 3.0CL over the weekend for the winter. I applied two coats of WDGPS 3.0 as my LSP, i didn't top it with fusion, with two coats of sealant i'm fully prepared for the mild winters we have here in Houston ( we have mostly rain during the winter months). I am very happy with WGDPS 3.0, it's the best sealant i've used for everything i ever wanted in a sealant, the looks after a proper prep are breathtaking ( the others i've used are SCG Nano seal which us good, and Poorboys EX sealant).

Re: "Winter" Wax/ Sealant
I have had success with Collinite (476/885 and 845) and FK 1000P getting through the Northeastern winter, from October through April, in good condition, with occasional washes. The OP's profile says he is in Louisiana, so he doesn't deal with the salt/winter sludge we do in the north.

Yeah I LOL when I see that. I've seen a lot of "Winter Wax" "Winter Prep" threads from the various boards I frequent. All started by people from warm weather states. Seriously, winter in Texas or Louisiana or So Cal or Florida ROFL!!! Swing by Chicago in January and I'll show you winter. Hell we've already had several nights in the 20's and it's just October.

Re: "Winter" Wax/ Sealant
I have had gotten really good results from M16, I've even gotten really good results from NXT 2.0. A lot of people here have trouble using this two products and getting good results from them, some people don't.
It probably has a lot to do with our different environments. I have not tried Collinite so I can't really comment on its durability, though I've heard great things. What I really should have said was "you will not be dissapointed with M16".

Re: "Winter" Wax/ Sealant
JimmyCutlass- Yeah, you and I probably agree about #16 a lot more than it sounded like in my previous post. I sure never knocked #16's durability until I tried Collinite!
