Pad comparison (ADS 4" pads)

So there are a few different pad comparison charts that I found while searching around. I easily found the Autogeek LC pad chart and am not confused at all by the color specific LC pads. I am wondering if anyone has used the 4" pads from ADS however and how they relate to the LC scale.

These are the Buff and Shine 4" pads that I am referring to. ADS sells them in a 2 pack, but was wondering how they compare to LC. It seems the oranges may be similar between both brands, but is the white Buff and Shine equivalent to a black LC pad? And what would a white LC pad be equivalent to?

I attempted to figure this all out on my own and emailed rick at ADS and he said the colors are pretty much the equivalent between brands (ie. white LC = white buff and Shine) but that doesn't match up the descriptions on the ADS site. I also looked up the Buff and Shine foam chart, but it lists 2 different black foams, and ... well ... I'm burnt out trying to figure this out.

Anyways.... I'm planning on using these via DA if that makes a difference. I am wondering if anyone has used these pads and can explain to me how they relate to the LC pads so I can have some kind of scale to figure out which I want to order. Thanks guys.

It also may serve to our benefit if we can get a large scale buffing pad comparison chart similar to the abrasive chart craigdt made for polishes. We can include Uber, Megs, LC, Buff and Shine, etc...

Re: Pad comparison (ADS 4" pads)

If you go to the Buff and Shine web site they have this application chart. Buff and Shine seems to show 5.5-in pads too but they have more options and descriptions do not match the cart. The descriptions do not exactly match but seem to be in the same order. The colors seem to match what Detailers Domain sells.

Application Charts

white 90ppi = ultimate finish (LC RED?)
black 80ppi = finish (LC Blue or black?)
blue 70 ppi = polish/finish (LC green or black?)
green 60 ppi = polish (LC white?)
yellow 50 ppi = lt compounding / polishing (LC orange?)

white euro foam = polishing
orange euro foam = lt compounding (LC orange?)

Their 5.5-in pads:

flat foam pads, flat foam buffing pads, car polishing foam flat pads, DA foam 5.5" pads, flex foam pads, pc foam pads, megs g110 flat foam pads, 5.5" detailing foam pads

They use more euro foam
