Re: Small washing machine?

A used machine is a great idea.

Washing machines generally last quite a long time. I sold my 10yr old industrial grade washing machine, which was in pristine shape both appearance and function, for $100 on Craigslist. The guy who bought it got a KILLER deal for my machine, and I am sure there are a lot of machines out there for this kind of deal as well.

The guy who bought my old machine claimed that his current washing machine at the time was over 40 years old, and was certain that mine would easily outlast that lol.

Re: Small washing machine?

I just ordered one of those bucket washer chauncys. I guess I should order some pad and MF cleaner now. I used to clean everything by hand in my utility sink with MF cleaning powder, but not anymore.
I have an old washing machine that I don't use anymore in my basement, but I just don't have room for it in my garage. Maybe some day when I build a real one, I'll set that bad boy up in there.

Re: Small washing machine?

PistolWhip- Yeah, hold on to that old washer.

efnfast- Heh heh, yeah, maybe my undercarriages are better taken care of than my washers I bet they get cleaned more often!

But seriously...our household washer has a stainless tub, and I run "clean washer" cycles fairly often. My garage washer *does* make you wonder though, what with the nasty ring it gets (I clean it maybe every other week) and the last time I had it apart the insides *were* a little grungy...I *will* say that I don't run my really good clothes through the garage one, or my really nasty shop textiles through the household one (except when one or the other is on the fritz, which seems to happen more often than it should).
