Taking trading to the next level... A trading kit?

So with money being tight for most everyone these days, what do you guys think of taking trading to the next level? Currently swaps are pretty casual, a product put in some travel sized bottle and hope for the best. I think it would be great if we could:

- Have a standardized bottle sizes, say 1oz.
- A small container for carnaubas
- Small box mailers that hold one or two bottles (maybe pre-paid if its doable)
- A request/pairing forum - something more advance would be great in the future, but a forum at first is fine.

I'm tired of spending $20+ bucks on something I will never use again. What I envision is members interested in trading buy an Autopian "trading kit" Then the trading begins.

Having the kit just takes all the hassle out, you fill the bottle and drop it in your mail.

Hmm... intriguing idea.

There are a bunch of products I'd love to try. And I also have a bunch of product that I'll never finish in my lifetime that I'd be happy to share.

I don't know if it's worth the risk. The post office isn't to fond of liquids being shipped and FEDEX and UPS are pretty expensive for shipping.

Several vendors ship via USPS. I have had no issue using them in the past. The USPS defenitions are so grey, that if they really decided to come after you, they would be hard pressed to make a real case. I'm no lawyer but it looks like as long as you ship via surface transportation, you are fine. You are even allowed to ship radioactive material and ifectious waste via USPS.

sounds good but i think 1oz is way too small. something in the range of 2-4 oz is better.

Yeah, you are right, I think 1oz would be too small. 4 is on the bigger side of what i'd want to split off, at least for LSPs anyway.

As long as we can keep the box and samples under 13oz it would be $3.26 for postage. Anything above that and you might as well use the small flat rate priority box for $4.95.

Re: Taking trading to the next level... A trading kit?

Most places sell 3oz bottles that are used for traveling on airplanes. Would 3oz work for most people?

I think walmart sells them (with little flip tops) for less than a buck..
