Re: Which WOWA Sealant: UPGP, OS, Z-CS, JW Trigger, other?
After doing a few cars with each, it seems to me that UPGP looks great at greater angles, but looking straight at the paint, it almost dulls it? I don't have that issue with the Optiseal. Optiseal doesn't have the candy look.

Completely disagree that UPGP "dulls" the look of the paint.

Agreed. I used UPGP on my Space Gray BMW (Think the classic BMW gray, a bit darker with flake) and the flake popped when looked at directly.

An old bottle of UPGP has given me a dull look. The key is a newer bottle that you know is new from the date stamp on the bottom.
As I posted on another thread on UPGP, I am now keeping it in an air tight zip lock when not being used to see if that works.
A bottle seems to be good for about a year. After that it does give a kind of dull look and does not have the appearance of another layer of clearcoat.

Damn, I guess that is my problem, I got it from Autogeek and its over a year old. The UPGP doesn't look clear in the bottle, its almost milky, but there are no solids or anything. QD'ing gives me my shine back.

Yakky, that's how I perceive the UPGP too. It looks wonderful when viewed from flatter angles yet absolutely nothing special when the angle is close to 90 degrees. And water clings to it - I managed to open my trunk and 80% of the beads stay put.
My OOS though gives a consistent "it's there" look no matter what the angles are.

Yep, that exactly what I'm seeing. I get the same with DWG or not. In fact I noticed it muted DWG after applying. I used OID on top and the bling was back. Maybe we have an older batch? Mine is dated from 08.

I wonder if we can get Dave to chime in on this?

My experience with DWG is that it only looks really good if applied with a buffer.
By hand, on my jet black, I find DWG looks kind of dull.
New bottle of UPGP with three coats given 24 hours each to cure over DWG applied with a PC is an amazing look on my jet black - and it lasts and lasts.

That's very strange, because we are on the same page 90% of the time. If anything, to me, the UPGP has a more solid "it's there" look to it, even from looking straight at it, compared to OS.
Am I just in the "honeymoon stage" since my UPGP was applied 5-6 days ago?

Re: Which WOWA Sealant: UPGP, OS, Z-CS, JW Trigger, other?
Hey yakky did you transfer the UPGP to another bottle? I cant even tell how mine looks since the bottle is so dark.
BTW, if you did transfer it that might have had an effect on it. When I was having some issues with OS, I suggested transferring the product to another bottle and DrG said it would actually be detrimental to the product.
