I use Tide powder in combo with a little of Dawn dish washing detergent and about 1 oz. of a degreaser like Purple Power or Mean Green. In the rinse I use about one oz. of Vinegar. I also use this to wash foam pads. Works for me.

I use Micro-Restore in the wash and then vinegar in the first of 2 rinse cycles. Probably overkill. If i'm out of Micro-Restore, I'll use Simple Green instead.
Does the Tide Powder break down enough for you? I thought it's better to use a liquid detergent on mf's?

The tide powder breaks down very well. I have a front loader. I use the extra water feature and the extra rinse. Then a vinegar rinse. Tide has always been a favor of Consumer Reports.

The main concern is to break down and release the waxes, glazes, and all residues left on the MF.

Liquid All HE. The one with no dyes, perfumes, etc.
Works fine.

Liquid laundry detergent and a cup of vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser for the rinse cycle. They come out smelling a little of vinegar, but I find it really softens them up better than adding it to the wash water.

Re: What product(s) do YOU use to wash Microfiber towels
I've always been told to use fragrance- and softener-free detergent and to not get overzealous with the vinegar (IIRC, it can have a degrading effect on the fibers).
Like the previous poster mentioned: about every 3 washes or so.

Re: What product(s) do YOU use to wash Microfiber towels
I wash mine when there's enough to justify a load (another reason we can't have enough MFs.)
Drying and glass WWs w/ Woolite and vinegar at the rinse cycle, polishing MFs get liquid Tide and utilities are washed w/ Simple Green. All done by me of course, the wife just shakes her head when I'm doing this

Heh heh, yeah...Leo/ DFTowel and I discussed this stuff at length, both on threads and in PMs. We finally agreed to disagree on a few topics, as nobody in their right mind would argue against what clearly works for them.

Re: What product(s) do YOU use to wash Microfiber towels
Wash them with Tide on the warm/cold setting (front loader HE) and put some vinegar in the bleach holder thingy. Towels come out perfect each time.
