Optimum Power Clean Worth It?

So lately for wheels, tires, wheel wells, and engines I've been using Amazing Roll Off. I have no complaints about this product and love using it.

I've been looking for a product that has a few more uses though and a little bit easier on the wallet (I've only diluted ARO 1:1 at the most). ARO also can't be used on interiors if need be. Basically I'm just looking for a good APC.

According to the label megs APC+ can be pretty heavily diluted and still be effective. Its also pretty cheap for a gallon. On the other hand you have OPC which can't be diluted any where near as far and is essentially more than double the cost.

The reason I'm considering OPC is because I'm a huge fan of all their other products. OPC and the car wash are the only 2 products I don't have. I've felt all their other products are priced extremely competively and perform at a higher price point. This is the only product I've been on the fence about.

I would just like to know what seperates OPC from other APCs. Is it worth the extra cost? Are megs dilution ratios inflated, or are Optimums underrated? Any help would be appreciated.

IMO, it should not replace your old APC, but compliment it. It should be used on "special" surfaces where safety is an issue. Leather, nav screens, plastics, etc that are sometimes damaged by APC.

OPC is a pretty cool product. I've seen it used to clean a wide variety of things from pedals to leather seats. When used in conjunction with steam, OPC leaves whatever it is you're cleaning looking new.

Now I'm confused? Why can't it all together replace it? Can't it do just as much as a normal APC, but even more? If not, please explain......

Re: Optimum Power Clean Worth It?

Yea I didnt get that either David. So is it basically a more gentle apc? What would be the difference between using OPC and a different APC but at a high dilution rate?

Re: Optimum Power Clean Worth It?

I'm going to eventually try OPC, but for the money, it's tough to beat Megs APC and/or APC+.

Re: Optimum Power Clean Worth It?

I'm guessing he means its expensive, so use it where another apc wouldn't work, like saying don't use di water to water your lawn I guess

Re: Optimum Power Clean Worth It?

So is it more concentrated? What I'm saying is, will this stuff clean up what another apc can't even at a low dilution ration 1:3 etc.

I saw scottwaxes post about opc cleaning up some paint splatter but I wonder if any apc would have done the job.

Anyways I bought a gallon of Megs APC+. I still would like to hear some opinions on OPC though as I'm still interested

Re: Optimum Power Clean Worth It?

I can't edit my posts for some reason so ill just say this simply, does OPC do anything that any other apc can't?

You don't water your lawn with DI water because it won't perform its duties in that situation any better than tap water. That's just a waste. So will opc perform certain taks better than an apc?

Re: Optimum Power Clean Worth It?

I've had other APC's do damage that OPC didn't on the same panel, so the question is not what it does, but what is doesn't do. (jack up trim, and on some surfaces like tires it will get a ton off after you already did APC)
