Easiest Bottle Wax on Market - European Delivery

So I'm planning to do a European Delivery on my next new car which means the car does not have any *protection* on it when it leaves port.

I'll probably just flip the carpets upside down, and throw garbage bags over the seat.

I intend to wash the car and give it a coat of wax before I hand over the keys ....

Whaddya ya guys suggest. Something easy to put on, wipe off and somewhat durable ......

I'll probably bring with me a MF or 2

Something like OCW would be the easiest, but I'd feel better spending just a little more time and using something like Collinite 845 as themightytimmah suggested. It is a liquid and if applied thin is not hard to buff off at all. The link I provided has free shipping if you can't find it locally.

Virtually all European Delivery programs include some sort of prep before the car gets loaded on a ship. Further, the car gets delivered to your local dealer after it arrives in the USA.

IIRC FK1 says their 218 is used on cars while being shipped. It's applied thick, then buffed out after it arrives at its destination. It could possibly have been one of their other products, contact them if you're considering the FK1 route.

I support the advise of themightytimmah and Eliot Ness, the Collinite 845 is the perfect solution for your European delivery. I've used it also and it removes very easily and you might be confusing it with Klasse SG which has a bit reputation for it's removal.

If you're going by plane, are you going to be able to take any lsp with you though?

Any pals in Germany that you could pre-mail some 845 to?

I found the post where I can confirm it's 218 that Finish Kare recommends for shipping.

Mazda and Ford when importing new vehicles to the USA from Japan and Australia they would apply a coat of Finish Kare 218 Poly Wipe prior to shipping. The excess film would not be removed until they reached the ports in California which could be weeks or months later. Doing this saved Ford millions of dollars in paint damage from salt water damage etc.

Post found here.

you can take all the liquids you want in checked baggage..but you can carry on liquids less than 3 oz..and you shouldn't need that much for a quick coat.

Are there any products that you can easily pick up in Europe? You can throw a few cases of some 85RD in the trunk LOL

Haha, you notice FK was banned?

Yes I know, that's another story and has nothing to do with this subject. Basically, DavidB felt they were too optimistic about their durability claims. FWIW, most folks here are quite happy with the durability of their products. Beyond that, I won't try to comment on DavidB's reasons.

I for one wouldn't have minded seeing FK1 come on board here as a formal sponsor with their own forum at the bottom of the page. They had a forum on their own website for awhile, but last year it was hacked a few times and they appear to have given up for now. I imagine with the recent sale of their company after Floyd's death that the forum is pretty low on the priority list.
