Detailed Audi RS4 (I am in Love!)

You guys will never believe me, but this Audi's clear was great to work with. This was a great relief from the usual clears that I have to deal with. Granted the car was between 4-6 months old and was in good overall shape.

Process was

Wash with ONR

Clay: Adams Detail Clay

Polish: Malco Swirl Remover via rotary at 1700 rpm with a grey finishing pad.

IPA wipe down to make sure no polishing oils left behind.

Seal: Zaino Z5 Pro x2

There was a slight paint transfer on the front bumber which I used the rotary w/ a white lc pad and Optimum Compound to remove it. I used the grey finishing pad on this application because swirls were very minor and they were coming very easily and the grey pad really finished off perfect.

Bumper scuff

You're right. It did come out easy!

What is that polish that you are using?

I've never heard of it......

looks great!

It's a pity you didn't get an underhood shot, though... mmm RS4

I just feel bad turning the job into a photo shoot.

The Malco polish breaks down nicely and is easy to use. I used it because it does not cut very much since it was not needed. Also since I was going to use Zaino it has no fillers like Menzerna and does not dust at all I have found if I use just the right amount.

paolo did a great job on the car....i had clayed it and topped it with z2 and z5 in the summer but never polished it....when he was finished with it the paint was much much deeper just as i had hoped

i was also very happy he was able to get out that scuff

all in all a very pleasant experience...very nice guy and an exceptional detail..hehe you can see my changing my hockey wheels in one of the pics

thanks again paolo!

To anyone who's never experienced this car, I guarantee you it's nothing like anything else you've been in. It's not just that it's fast, it's bloody fast, sticks like epoxy to the road, and sounds like a complete monster...all while being a 5 passenger sedan. Take your EVOs and STi's, whatever you want, RS4 is an overall far better car (albeit 2x the price lol).

Sean,

Like I said on Audiworld thanks for letting me work on the car. I always love to handle a car of that caliber. Take good care of her. And I agree everything that Lemans23 said. I have had the pleasure to ride and drive and RS4 and it is a monster all in its own.

Absolutely... while I don't think its in the same class as the evo or sti, it is a beast. A true car. The engine is deafening and the ride is as punishing as a beating. I love it...

ok, I think I took topnotch's thread OT too far all ready... sorry top :D

Agreed, the STi and EVO are clear winners on the track, but come nowhere near the RS4 in style and elegance.

The detail looks great! Really did the car justice. The Medical Examiner for the county I live in drives on. Lucky guy.

Nice job....beautiful car.

Being that you are also on the island, did you get the Malco from Paul's?

I did get the Malco from Pauls. I did not get any interior shots since this was an exterior only detail. Maybe Sean the owner of the car can get those for us in the near future. I know his camera got sat on by a friend so I dont know if and when he can do that.

Awesome! Judging by your pics, and well, most other click and brags on this site, it really looks like Zaino gives just unreal depth and clarity. Now I know what is on my christmas list! Excellent job.

hey guys...thanks for the comments and thanks again to paolo...i definitely take car of the car and enjoy it every day...funny thing is i never considered it so "loud"...the sport mode is noticeably louder than the closed valve but nowhere near enough "base" for me

granted i was used to a 350z with downpipes and a really loud exhaust...but the RS4 can definitely use a little more opened piping for more sound to sneak through...eventually i will go with the nonvalved milltek...

otherwise th car is really a dream...i try never to get into "my car is faster than yours fights"...so commenting on just the rs4 i can say that it always has power to deliver (even in 6th at 3k)...it feels very stable and the heavy weight of the car was very nicely utilized...and the interior and ride makes the car more of a daily driver than i couldve hoped for...basically i love it

i dont have many shots of the interior..but the gallery i pasted below put together by an audiworld member has everythign you can ask for..enjoy!
