Are you using a rotary or DA for this? I've never been able to go from 105 to 106 unless I am using 105 on a white pad or less (which is rare). 106ff/fa just never seem to have the cut to remove 105 marring for me.

Has anyone here tried using M205 on an Orange LC pad via DA? This is my favorite go-to combination, just wondering if any others have found this wonderful combo as well?

On harder paints I can do 105 via orange, then 106fa white and get 95% and looks great. Remember, I said most paint too, not all. Makita btw. Every car is different it sucks never knowing what to expect lol.

By DA I use it with the yellow Meguiars polishing pad, seems to work quite well. I use the same pad via rotary, which is what I use if the paint needs (and the customer is paying for) deeper polishing than the DA is capable of.

I thought that's what I was going to do? See below:

Kevin - Have you ever tried any Menzerna products? I'd be interested to know what you thought in comparison if so.

I must be doing something wrong. I use one product brand on all my cars I detail all the time.

I didn't get all that much correction with the orange LC pad, but it made for a
nice follow up to some aggressive M105 work that left lots of micromarring (the kind that's only visible under the SunGun). I had to use 4" pads via PC, but larger ones worked fine on the Flex.

I sorta prefer the Griot's orange pad for this when working with the Flex, finishes out a lot nicer and still does almost as much correction (with M205) as the LC orange. Not that I find M205 does all that much correction on hard clear anyhow...I wouldn't be happy with it as a one-step the way a lot of people are (not sure what I *would* think is a nice one-step either ).

HOLY SMOKES!

IS THAT LEGAL?!

SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE... SAY IT AIN'T SO!

Well, with a few exceptions (lacquer thinner, wax & grease remover, various accessories, and a couple ol' favorites to change things up), so do I!

I do try to stay updated on paint products that possibly rival my Meg's go-to compounds and polishes, plus we both blind test (sometimes together), so I will be trying some Menzerna products next week.

Perhaps then I can offer a "newbie" opinion.
I suspect that I will get a better finish with M105 or M205 because I have used them SOOO much, and can get pretty solid performance from this duo.

BUT!- The way I give an honest comparison is to use a product as-if it is now my ONLY liquid I get to use.
So, I will do my best to cut, polish, & finish with it using any possible means.
I don't know if I will have time to use Menzerna to that degree this time, but I certainly look forward to the session.

You should meet up with us!

Re: Interesting quote on Meguiars new 205

After testing Menzerna you guys need to put a plan of attack together for the Meg's folks to take some of that OEM level marketshare away from the Europeans. If being a Meg's 100 percenter is working for you guys then the rest of the world should be following suit.....
