I'm not going to get into which product will outlast another product but I must ask, what are you basing the several weeks not months where new version UPP is concerned? Have you actually used it?

I tried the UPP this week on two cars, a white 02 escalade & a silver 00 328i. Both cars I clayed with pinnacle, then medallion cleaner, ultimate platinum cleaner, then the ultimate platinum protection. Please note this is the first polymer I have used. I think the results were great, very shiny, not like plastic and the finish is so smooth. Also the wheels were amazing with this product best I have seen. Both clients were extremely happy. This was only one layer, but I plan on putting another layer on each on the next wash. I also noticed a difference in shine when I used the platinum QD right after.

Have I used it? Not this week I haven't. Its been snowing. However, I've been using Platinum in all its many versions since the middle of last year. I just put a coat on each car a couple weeks ago in fact. I don't think anyone can doubt that I'm a Platinum fan. I think I've used enough bottles of it to know how long it lasts. I'm on my second bottle of the new version and will probably have to order my third before long.

Yep, know what you mean...the amount of snow this winter has been a nightmare! At least the kids are having fun.

I know you've used UPP for a while that's why I'm surprised at the weeks not months statement. Truthfully, I've used the UPP version 1 with AIO as a base and felt it kept on going for a solid 2 months (one coat). The new UPP is incredible. The absolute slickest finish I've ever felt and thus far seems no prob going 3 -4 months on two coats. This in a salt encrusted, snow bird NE winter.

I guess everyone has their unique experience but mine has been that the new UPP is overall the best product I have used anywhere. And if one coat over AIO doesn't go three months I'll eat my hat. I know what I've seen first hand on multiple vehicles and would love to know why or what makes it not last as long in other areas.

The only car I've been able to put it on and watch closely enough to gauge durabiliy is my wife's Accord. I put too many other things on top of it on my Integra to know how long it lasts. The Accord is outside and uncovered 24/7 and doesn't get washed as often. I'm thinking that it just doesn't last if you don't take care of it. After a few weeks it is just not holding up as well. It still looks great but the water just clings to it. I just put a fresh coat on 2 weeks ago so we'll see how it does. I'm keeping an eye on it so I can get a more accurate idea of how long it lasts. First wash on it is tomorrow if its not snowing or something.

That about says it all for most of us. It is hard to keep from adding layers or different products for any length of time. I know I go into withdrawls.
