i want to know about the durability(as compared to zaino, klasse, etc). i use klasse and zaino and have compared the two. i like klasse better than zaino as it is VERY easy to apply, you only need two products(AIO & SG as compared to a list of zaino).

Platinum is a good 4 or 5 month sealant. It won't last as long as Klasse on most cars but it may hold up against Zaino. It is more like Blackfire than either of these two sealants though. It protects like a sealant but has the wet look and glow of a carnauba. Personally I really like Platinum. Check out the newer posts for other opinions though. The new formula is supposed to be really good.

Wayne,
If durability is your concern, then I'd stick with either Klasse or Zaino. Zaino is better than Klasse at maintaining a nice slick surface that beads forever, but as a hydro-carbon solvent based polymer, Klasse might provide slightly better overall protection than Z (water-based polymer) from acid rain and other corrosives. Can't go wrong with either choice.

Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: south Posts: 62 | thank you for your input. i didn't realize there were so many products i have not tried. everyday it seems as though i see something "new"(at least new to me). i currently use klasse on my work car and it is holding up great. on my wifes car i am using zaino(i kinda like the klasse better, IMO). on my "nice car" i have collinite on it right now, but next detail session i am debating between zaino and klasse. the paint is like a mirror, no scratches, swirls, etc, so i was afraid the klasse AIO, since it is also a cleaner might cause some swirls/ spiderwebbing, so i am kinda leaning to zaino, except it seems to attract more dust.
....why doesn't someone make a PERFECT product, LOL!

Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: south Posts: 62 | i just "assumed" it might since it is a cleaner, "abrasive"? i originally started using it only on my wheels and used zaino on the car, but i liked the results, so i started experimenting on my work car, and wound up liking it a LOT(AIO & SG). my "nice" car has a mirror polish and i didn't want to "chance" putting in any spiderwebs/swirls with a cleaner, that is one good thing about zaino, no abrasives, the bad thing is dust attraction compared side by side to the klasse finished car.

If the product has a few abrasives in it then it is actually going to help you remove swirls. That is one of the differences between Klasse and Zaino. Zaino doesn't have the abrasives so you have to do your surface prep work first. AIO is the surface prep work for the SG. It just depends on the appearance that pleases you more I guess.

Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: south Posts: 62 | my personal opinion comparing my 3 cars.
1, klasse
2 zaino
3 collinite
each car has a different protection, my favorite so far is klasse AIO and SG with zaino in second place. the klasse just looks better to me and seems easier to use, although zaino is easier to remove.

That will be the first item of business next year. HERE is a pretty good review on what people feel are the strengths and weaknesses of the two products. I think there are some really good points. I definatly think that some products look better on certian colors than others. Ease of use or not, I think I would definatly use certian things on black and other things on white. That's just me though.
