Re: Megs APC+ is it safe?

so it seems like when i apply APC+ to clean it, i always have to follow up with wiping the sticky layer off our putting a protectant always. What if i just want to clean the interior quick to remove dust or something? Sometimes i wonder why didnt i just stick with megs quik interior detailer.

Re: Megs APC+ is it safe?

If you are left with a sticky residue this is indicative that the cleaner is too strong for the leather finish and it is softening it as it cleans.
With so many leather safe products on the market one wonders why you would want to use an all purpose cleaner on your leather with the risks that are involved. What happens if there is a problem - can they help with the resolution of it?

But aren't most APCs alkaline based?

How about just a slightly damp microfiber? Some of the qualities of microfibers is its ability to pick up dust and clean without chemicals.

Sometimes I get the feeling that Autopians need some kind of chemical or product to do every little thing, even something as simple as wiping dust off. What do you think Meg's Quik Interior Detailer mostly consists of? It's mostly water.

Sorry for the rant, but Meg's QID has got to be the most overrated product on this board, even more so than NXT Glass Cleaner. It has a bad eucalyptus scent, doesn't really change the appearance much compared to using nothing, and doesn't clean any better than a slightly damp microfiber. I just don't get what all the fuss is about?

Re: Megs APC+ is it safe?

Personally, I wouldn't ever use APC+ on leather. There are many products out on the market that will do the job at hand and you won't have to worry about the high acid levels damaging your leather or at worst a customers leather. APC+ is a great product though.

I'll buy it too. I love using the stuff on tires.
