Bilt-Hamber is legal. This clay can be used with just plain water.

Re: Riccardo Clay

JohnP can you please PM a name of a US vendor that sells Bilt-Hamber.

I don’t want to break any rules about listing nonparticipating vendors.

Only the vendor can't post links. If you have no relation to the company or members of it, it's fine.

Something to do with patent issues or the sort I believe.

Automagic invented detailers clay back 20 years or so ago and patented it. One or more companies noticed how their clay could be improved if resins (or something like that) were used and made the clay more elastic and easier to use so they made a better clay. Automagic sued the snot out of all of these companies claiming patent infringement. The US court ruled in Automagic's favor so the competing clay can be made in the US but not sold in the US (or Japan since they recognize most US Patent laws) but pretty much everywhere else in the world (since they don't recognize all of the US's patent laws) can sell it.

Therefore our Canadian and European friends have it, we don't (unless we know someone is Canada who will get you some). Once the patent has expired, we will get the elastic clay again, until then, we just have to wait. Not sure when the patent expires. If you are curious, just google it and you will see hundreds of threads about it.

eshine will not ship to the us no matter how hard you beg. They will not risk their relationship with riccardo in order to supply you with clay. If you add it on check out to their website the order will be canceled.
