I do all of those things you mentioned. I will say that I only care about durabilty from November to March. I have not yet succomed to my addiction when its -30F outside
I hear ya - It's almost over the top to pay 'n spray when it's friggin freezing cold! I gotta scope out a resonably priced touchless (where I can stay inside) for next year.
I really want to take care of my ride, but there has to be limits to the personal cost.

It IS extreme detailing. Washing every couple of days, topping every week (with a product that should last for months)... 'Quick Detail' after a perfectly good wash 'n dry.... 2, 4, 6 bucket washes, foam cannons, steam cleaners, $1k extractors, Shelves full of detailing supplies that will last for generations.... the list of extremes in here is endless.

The one I've always liked the best is the quest for the most durable LSP (like the search for the holy grail .... by folks that can't help but slather on a new LSP on their ride every few weeks. (so durability really doesn't matter at all). I'd bet most here can't go 8 weeks before they're reaching for next thing to slather on there!

DetailAholics, DetailGeeks, DetailJunkies or whatever the label is - here we are!
Maybe you don't belong?
LOL

I hope that last comment wasn't directed toward me, cause I guarantee I fit in that category as well (probably better) than just about anybody on here.

That said, different things are needed for different situations. Sure my own car it's not common for me to re-do the process every month or two. Looks is my main concern so even if the product is still "protecting" but has lost some of it's look I'll re-do the waxing process. Things have to be done very specifically with my car to keep the soft paint swirl free, so I probably have steps not even needed for most situations in my wash setup alone.

Sometimes I need a durable sealant though. I just finished my brother-in-law's truck today and it got a coat of DG105 topped with AW 12 hours later. I won't see that truck again for about a year so I needed the most durable setup I could find.

Not sure why you found the need to single my posts out in your replies as if I am any different than 95% of the users on this forum (which I'm not). My main concern on my own car is how good it looks.....on customer's or friends/family cars it's durability.

Like the way that sounds since I'm in a DG phase and did the same thing to my ride week before last.

Because it was there - don't be defensive - no need - I was just having fun.
Wax on, wax off.

Well, talking about AW again I really think it worked great today. I polished the company van with the Cyclo and green Cyclo pads and Poliseal, wiped it off with AW and it feels and looks great now

I totally agree. I only wash my truck 3-4 times from Dec thru Feb. Pay and spray only. Usually use ONR at close to QD mix and then dry. My blur ranger turns almost white from wash to wash, but there is't much I can do about it though.

My wife takes the Honda thru a touchless wash when its warm enough (they close them at 0F).

On the plus side I haven't lost a finger yet
