The curved panels are simply reflecting light differently. I do agree that the curved panels will do a better job of creating a "wet look" vs a flat panel.
But if a product is going to actually make a difference in the looks/wetness of the paint, it will do it on flat panels just as well as curved ones imo.

Good question. The simple answer is I don't. All I know is that I'm pleased with the end results. I've tried so many products in the past, but never got the results that I have now. Durability means nothing to me cause it takes so little time and product to just put another layer.

Yeah, I haven't tried UPGP, but I feel the same way you do with regard to Opti-Seal.
I am going to try DWG on my other cars to see if it makes a difference on those colors (Pewter and yellow).

Rob, I've used OS for sometime, but it doesn't come close to UPGP as far as looks. It might win in the durability dept, but like I said, durability means nothing to me.

Considering all the LSP's I have used over the years, I would say that I have a hard time believing that any sealant would be that much better in looks than another, to the point where you could say "it doesn't come close" in terms of looks.
I am of the opinion that the vast majority of the final look and wetness of the paint is in the prep.

You are correct again. Prep is the most important thing in getting good end results. However, the fact remains that I did not get the kind of gloss with OS as I did with UPGP and oh I forgot 1X DWG. BTW you did say you haven't tried UPGP, correct?

Correct, I have not tried UPGP, but I would like to. Then again, I have been so happy/satisfied with OS that I don't feel a huge urge to try UPGP. I most definitely do not have an issue with OS not giving me good gloss. In fact, it looks pretty darn glossy!

Rob, what are you applying OS over? I'm sure you are happy with the results, but if your like me, always looking for that something extra. Any pictures of your ride?

Agree totally. BTW I'm expecting no less from OOS: A recent Opti-Sealed vehicle - Optimum Forum

I am not applying OS over anything. I polished with SIP and 106FF, then straight to OS.
So far I am only using the OS on my Yellow Protege5. There are a couple of pics (though not great) in these threads:

Re: Does UPGP Work?
Why are all the 'WOW' pictures of UPGP seem to be using difuse indirect light like under a canopy? You don't see many full sun shots.

That type of lighting is the best way to show the wetness of the paint. Making paint look wet in direct sunlight is more difficult, but DetailDoc seemed quite successful in that regard in his thread with UPGP.
